Vacation Holidays and Leaves. Sick Days Please refer to the currentAgreement between the Board of Education Ridgeland Public Schools District 000, Xxx Xxxx, Xxxxxxxx and Ridgeland Council of Local 943 American Federation of Teachers AFL-CIO.” For employees not covered by this agreement: Full or part-time educational support personnel who work at least 600 hours per year receive 10 paid sick leave days per year. Part-time employees will receive sick leave pay equivalent to their regular work day. Unused sick leave shall accumulate to a maximum of 180 days, including the leave of the current year. The number of annual days of sick leave and accumulation of same shall be determined pursuant to the provisions of state law and any collective bargaining agreement in effect at that time. Sick leave includes personal illness, or as may be deemed necessary in other cases, quarantine at home, or serious illness, or death in the immediate family. The Superintendent and/or designee shall monitor the use of sick leave. After 3 days absence for personal illness, or as it may be deemed necessary in other cases, the employee may be required to furnish a physician's or a spiritual adviser's certificate of illness as a basis for pay. If such a certificate is required, the District shall pay any expenses incurred in securing it. All full-time personnel of the District shall be granted leaves of absence (sick leave) at full pay. Unused sick leave including leave for the current year, shall accumulate at full pay. Sick Leave shall be interpreted to mean personal illness or disability, quarantine at home by a physician in writing, or critical illness or death in the immediate family. Critical illness means illness which the attending physician considers sufficiently serious to require the employee’s presence and the Board may require evidence of the physician’s concern. Immediate family shall include parents, spouse, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, parents-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, step parents, grandparents, step children and legal guardians. As a condition for paying sick leave after 3 days absence for personal illness or 30 days for birth or as the Board or Superintendent deem necessary in other cases, the Board or Superintendent may require that the staff member provide a certificate from: (1) a physician licensed in Illinois to practice medicine and surgery in all its branches, (2) a chiropractic physician licensed under the Medical Practice Act, (3) an advanced practice nu...

  • HOLIDAYS AND LEAVE For the purposes of leave provisions part-time employees working less than full-time or less than five days per week or less than 52 weeks per year receive a pro-rated entitlement.

  • Religious Holiday Leave An employee may use two (2) sick days for religious observances if he/she has no personal business leave days. When an employee requests the use of this leave for days not known to be a religious holiday, the Board may request documentation.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday.

  • Vacation and Sick Leave At such reasonable times as the Board of Directors shall in its discretion permit, the Employee shall be entitled, without loss of pay, to absent himself voluntarily from the performance of his employment under this Agreement, with all such voluntary absences to count as vacation time; provided that:
