Vacation Period – Maintenance Staff. Annual vacations earned to July 1st each year may be taken at any time during the following twelve (12) month period provided approval is given by SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 38 (RICHMOND) AND CUPE LOCAL 716 Collective Agreement 2022-2025 the Department Head on the basis that the service will not be impaired and a minimum of substitution will be required. On or before May 1st each year, employees shall submit in writing their request for vacations to be taken during periods of school closure. The Department Head will review all requests and approve on the basis outlined above, confirmation of approved vacations shall be given within two (2) weeks of May 1st. Requests for vacations to be taken when school is in session shall be submitted in writing as early as possible. The Department Head will review all such requests and approve on the basis outlined above within two (2) weeks of application.
