Whenever Christmas Day or Boxing Day occur during the two (2) week period immediately preceding the week in which Boxing Day or New Year's Day occur, then for the purpose of calculating a normal day's pay for Boxing Day or New Year's Day in the case of an employee who had performed work on the immediately preceding Christmas Day or Boxing Day, the number of hours which shall be deemed to have been worked by him/her on Christmas Day or Boxing Day, shall be the greater of:

Whenever Christmas Day. New Year's Day or Memorial Day falls on Saturday or Sunday, the Friday preceding or the Monday following shall for the purpose of this Agreement, be observed as the holiday.
Whenever Christmas Day or New Years Day fall on a Sunday they shall be observed on Monday. Boxing Day will be observed on Tuesday unless otherwise designated by Government. When Canada Day falls on a non working day for any full-time employee, an alternative day off will be scheduled, consistent with the day that the Festival is observing the holiday.

  • Christmas Day Easter Tuesday shall be observed as a Public Holiday in lieu of Easter Saturday and any work performed on Easter Saturday shall be paid at ordinary Saturday penalty rates. Should Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day, Australia Day or ANZAC day fall on a weekend, the following Monday, or other day as agreed shall be taken in lieu.

  • Christmas Period Article 16 relating to scheduling during this period will apply, except as modified to confirm that the weekend shift employee will continue to work weekends during this period.
