WORK YEAR-CLASSIFIED. 1. The work year of bargaining unit employees will be determined by School Board in compliance with state law and in accordance with the school calendar. The number of days may be adjusted to meet the minimum requirements by the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) and state and federal law.
2. Non‐exempt hourly employees will be paid overtime over forty (40) hours in a week in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Overtime and emergencies requires prior written/or verbal authorization from the employee's immediate supervisor.
3. The work year for Bus Drivers shall be each day transportation‐related services are required to transport students to and from school. The work year is based upon the school calendar with the understanding that the calendar may be subject to changes, but such changes which are made by the District shall not affect a change in the required total number of workdays in the work year.
4. All Classified employees shall have a two hundred forty‐six day work year except as noted below:
i) Food Service ‐ one hundred eighty‐two (182) days;
ii) Bus Drivers ‐ one hundred eighty (180) days
