XXXXXX AND RECALL/REDUCTION IN FORCE. In the case of layoff and recall or reduction in force, a teacher may be dismissed without cause if the position, which that teacher holds, is eliminated and there is no vacancy for which he or she is certified and highly qualified. In the event a position is eliminated, the teacher of shortest length of service in that position shall be dismissed first, but the teacher so eliminated shall have first claim to any vacancy for which he or she is certified and highly qualified. The Board agrees that when said laws conflict with the Scott County Private Tenure Act, action will be based on provisions of the Private Tenure Act, 1939, Chapter No. 391. The Board further agrees that the elimination of any teaching position in a required class for college admission will be done only as a last resort in order to meet budget requirements.

  • Reduction in Force and Recall In the event a RIF (reduction in force) is necessary, any employee who is laid off and is a member of the retirement plan may withdraw the employee's total contribution without forfeiture of the employee's vested portion of the City's contribution. The vested portion of the City's contribution must remain in the employee's account with the carrier of the retirement plan or roll that vested portion over into an authorized XXX plan.

  • REDUCTION IN FORCE It is understood and agreed that in addition to the above designated and related duties, full-time professional staff shall participate fully in the activities of institutional councils and/or committees.   • REDUCTION IN FORCE (RIF If the Board determines it necessary to reduce the number of teaching positions, the following procedures shall apply: A RIF may occur for the reasons set forth in Ohio Revised Code 3319.17, as well as for curriculum changes and/or financial reasons.

  • Demotion and Layoff 10:1 In the event reduction of forces or curtailment of operation shall occur, employees shall be laid off in the reverse order of their Company seniority in the area in which they are working at the time of the reduction. The application of this Section to an employee working temporarily in an area shall apply only to the extent that it affects him/her in his/her regular area.
