Additional Sick Leave. The campus president has the authority to extend sick leave beyond the amount accrued at full pay, partial pay or without pay. [Contract Article 23.4 (g)] • The Leave Donation Program to assist employees who have exhausted sick leave because of illness is available to part-time employees who are eligible to earn leave credits. [Contract Appendix A-45] • Family leave options are available to part-time employ- ees depending on their professional obligation. These are the same options available to full-time members. Part-time employees are encouraged to consult with their UUP chapter office to receive guidance as they pursue leave arrangements through their campus Human Resources Office. Family leave provisions in UUP’s contract with NYS include the following: • New York State Paid Family Leave—up to 10 weeks of partially paid leave in 2019 and 2020, rising to 12 weeks in 2021, that can be taken within one year of childbirth, adoption, or ▇▇▇▇▇▇ care placement; to care for a family member with a serious health condition; or to assist family members deployed abroad for military service. Part-time academics teaching two or more courses, and part-time professionals and academics with an obligation other than teaching whose obligation is at least 20 hours per week, are eligible after 26 weeks of employment. Part-time academics teaching less than two courses, and part-time professionals and academics with an obligation other than teaching whose professional obligation is less than 20 hours per week, are eligible after completing 175 workdays of employment. • Unpaid leave under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (used concurrently with use of sick leave accruals for paid time off). • Up to seven months of unpaid child-care leave. • UUP’s Family Leave Guide provides more detailed information about family leave options. Examples of Additional Sick Leave in a sentence

  • At the beginning of each fiscal year, the Board of Education shall contribute 10 sick leave days to a pool of Emergency Additional Sick Leave days (ESL days) to be available to members of the bargaining unit (teacher).

  • If leave required for 24 maternity disability exceeds earned sick leave, additional sick leave may be taken as defined in 25 Section 4: Additional Sick Leave.

  • Any full-time or part-time teacher, including a teacher engaged on a temporary basis, shall be entitled to fifteen (15) days paid Additional Sick Leave, or the applicable pro-rata thereof.

  • Additional Sick Leave shall not exceed the projected annual sick leave accrual of the Member.

  • The Personal Leave or Additional Sick Leave entitlement of a part-time teacher shall be determined by multiplying the relevant annual entitlement for a full time teacher with the same period of service by the teacher’s load.

  • A teacher shall not be entitled to Personal Leave or Additional Sick Leave for any period in respect of which such teacher is entitled to workers' compensation.

  • Additional Sick Leave is not intended for use in conjunction with Personal Carer’s Leave.

  • Additional Sick Leave over and above the entitlement will be granted at management’s discretion.

  • Once a member reaches the maximum sick leave accrual amount of one thousand nine hundred eighty-eight (1,988) hours, the member shall continue to accrue Additional Sick Leave (“ASL”) for sick leave use only up to a maximum amount of five hundred (500) hours.

  • If, during the period covered by Additional Sick Leave or Medical Leave, an employee is physically able to return to work, he/she shall be immediately returned to the position and classification held prior to the leave, without loss of benefits or seniority after providing HPUD with a medical release to return to work.

Related to Additional Sick Leave

  • Current Sick Leave means those days of sick leave for the current contract year, which leave is granted at the rate of one day of sick leave per month worked, or major part thereof.

  • Mental Sickness means any emotional, behavioral, psychological, personality, adjustment, mood or stress- related abnormality, disorder, disturbance, dysfunction or syndrome; regardless of its cause. It includes, but is not limited to:

  • Paid sick leave – means paid leave under the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act.

  • Original Signed “Original Signed”

  • Additional SDU Study means a deliverability study that a Developer may elect to pursue as that term is defined in OATT Section 25 (OATT Attachment S).
