Exhausted Sick Leave. A Teacher who has exhausted accumulated sick leave and who is unable to perform the duties because of personal illness, maternity, or other disability may, upon request, be granted leave under this Article, Section 9.
Exhausted Sick Leave. In the event an employee, absent because of illness or injury, has exhausted sick leave accrual, the above mentioned fringe benefits shall continue throughout the balance of the school year.
Exhausted Sick Leave. An employee who expects that his/her absence due to illness will continue beyond his/her accumulated sick leave may request a leave of absence without pay. If this request for leave of absence is approved by the College, the employee may continue health benefits insurance for a limited period of time by arranging for prepayment of premiums to the College in accordance with New Jersey Statutes.
Exhausted Sick Leave. Employees, who because of severe illness have exhausted all eligible accumulated sick leave, may apply on an individual basis to the Board for the differential between their regular salary and the substitute rate for a maximum of ninety (90) workdays. Determination of the Board will be made upon each individual application, and such determination shall not be subject to the grievance procedure. The Board shall reply within thirty (30) calendar days in writing.
Exhausted Sick Leave. When a member has exhausted allotted sick leave days, the member will lose only the amount of salary that the employer would have to pay a substitute member whether or not a substitute is actually required. These costs are limited to salary, FICA, Xxxxxxx’x Compensation, PERS contribution from management and unemployment. This allotment is not to exceed f ive (5) ten
Exhausted Sick Leave. The Board shall continue to pay the insurance premium for three (3) months after the employee has used all of his/her leave provided the employee has applied for leave pursuant to Article X (Leaves Without Pay).
Exhausted Sick Leave. In case of illness, the employee may use vacation and/or accumulated holidays, if needed, if all sick leave and other benefits have been exhausted subject to the following provisions:
A. If a member is out of sick leave, he or she will be taken off the payroll when absent.
B. When an employee is absent for more than five (5) consecutive days, the Director will authorize transfer of other leave days upon receipt of a medical doctor's certificate explaining the illness or incapacity which prevented the employee from reporting.
Exhausted Sick Leave. Secretaries who have exhausted their sick leave credit and are still unable to work, may be paid for any unused vacation days.
Exhausted Sick Leave. In the event, an employee, employees or the bargaining unit shall be permitted to transfer from their sick days (any given amount) to the employee with exhausted sick leave. This sick leave arrangement shall be administered jointly by the Union and the Chief. Effective July 1, 2022: Employees that do not utilize sick leave for a six (6) month period shall receive twelve (12) hours of additional personal leave to be used within six (6) months of receipt of such time. The foregoing personal leave must be used in accordance with the provisions of Article 32 - Personal Time.
Exhausted Sick Leave a. Circumstances do arise on account of illness or injury, which require absence from work in excess of the number of paid sick days herein provided but not so extensive as to require or warrant the extended unpaid sick/disability leaves provided for in Section H.2. of this Article V. Accordingly, in the event an employee exhausts all paid sick time provided for herein but does not require the long term leaves available in Section H.2. the employee shall use accumulated vacation and then personal leave and then incentive leave.
b. If all of the above are exhausted, the Agency may advance the employee unpaid sick leave on an as-needed basis. If the unpaid sick leave is expected to last more than seven (7) days or the need for the leave is part of a reoccurring medical problem, the employee may be required to submit a physician's statement that verifies the need for the unpaid leave.
