Conceptual Design Phase definition

Conceptual Design Phase means that stage of a Project culminating in the preparation of a preliminary design or series of preliminary design alternatives based on the Program Manager’s review of the Owner’s Program and the A/E Service Providers’ design challenge submissions. This phase includes the Program Manager’s preliminary evaluation of alternative approaches to designing the Project, taking into consideration the requirements of the Project, as contemplated by the Program Budget, illustrating the scale and relationship of the Project components, as approved by Owner.
Conceptual Design Phase means, for each Package, that stage of a Project culminating in the preparation and submission of a Conceptual Design Package that includes preliminary design or series of preliminary design alternatives based on CMA’s and Master A/E’s review of Owner’s Design Program, and the 2016 Texas Capitol Complex Master Plan, located at: xxxx://xxx.xxx.xxxxx.xx.xx/divisions/commissionadmin/tools/ and incorporated herein for all purposes as “Exhibit F”(hereinafter referred to as the “Master Plan”). This phase includes CMA’s and Master A/E’s preliminary evaluation of alternative approaches to designing the Packages, taking into consideration the requirements of the Packages and the Project Budget, including the elements of the Schematic Design Package. This shall include the combination of: (i) Schematic Design Drawings; (ii) an outline summary of the areas within the proposed Package, such summary corresponding to the general categories in the space allocation outlined in the Design Program; and (iii) a description of the building and general Site development that shall include an overview of proposed exterior architectural materials and structural systems together with the MEP Systems and services being contemplated.
Conceptual Design Phase means the Conceptual Design Phase of the Project as described in Section IV.B.2

More Definitions of Conceptual Design Phase

Conceptual Design Phase. The concept design Phase (“Concept Design Phase”) shall include the following items: a. A concept design will be provided by Owner. Architect shall review the concept design along with other the program information furnished by Owner to ascertain the requirements of the Project and Architect shall review its understanding of such requirements with Owner. b. In order to properly perform its Services, Architect shall perform a visual inspection of the Site conditions and/or existing conditions to make a professional assessment of said conditions and shall perform an assessment of the Site documents provided by Owner. Architect’s inspection shall include whatever ground testing may be viable without penetrating the surface. In preparing all design documents, Architect shall take into account (i) all information which can be obtained through the investigation described above, and (ii) all information regarding the Site furnished by Owner. Architect shall report promptly to Owner all discrepancies in information furnished to Architect by Owner which are discoverable upon examination of such information. This shall include reporting omissions in the information provided by Owner which are generally recognized as necessary for design purposes. c. Architect shall develop and review with Owner alternative design concepts (“Conceptual Documents”) for the design and construction of the Project which may be beneficial to the Project Schedule and/or the Project Budget. d. Prior to starting the Schematic Design Phase, as defined below, Architect shall provide Owner with written confirmation of Architect's understanding of Owner's program requirements, the overall Project Schedule and Project Budget. Further, Architect shall obtain Owner’s approval of the Conceptual Documents to be developed into Schematic Design Documents, as defined below.

Related to Conceptual Design Phase

  • Design Phase means the period during which the Transporter shall prepare a draft project proposal for publication in accordance with section 4.3;
