Delays. For withdrawals and transfers from the Separate Account Divisions, we may defer payment if:
Delays. For this bid item, a “Delay” results from factors beyond the SDRS Contractor’s control related to A&M Contractor error, unusual and unsafe materials discovered on the site, or other unforeseen environmental (discovery of cultural resource, discovery of proximity to unknown endangered species habitat, etc.) or imminent safety issues. These delays will be designated and approved by the IMT. Examples of unusual and unsafe materials include the discovery of radioactive Structural Debris, unexploded ordinance, explosives, hazmat spills or releases, mercury releases, unknown cylinders, dangerous or threatening residents or animals, or roadway accidents. The SDRS Contractor shall notify the IMT within fifteen (15) minutes once the SDRS Contractor becomes aware of a potential Delay. This bid item does not include weather impacts, which are not compensated. Delays eligible for payment will be designated and approved by the OSC or designee, verbally or by electronic communication. These occurrences will be followed up with an email or other written correspondence before the end of the same working day. Delays eligible for payment will be designated and approved by the IMT in writing. Loss of productivity due to foreseeable conditions within the SDRS Contractor’s control including, but not limited to, weather, poor planning, SDRS Contractor error, labor shortages, traffic, safety violations, or receiving facility (disposal, recycling sites, Temporary Log Storage and Processing Sites/Staging Areas or end use facility) wait times, are ineligible for payment as a “delay.” Delays usually include a small percentage of the properties.
Delays has the meaning set forth in Section 2.3 hereof.
Examples of Delays in a sentence
Delays in United States mail deliveries or any other means of transmittal, including couriers or agents of the Authorized User shall not excuse late Bid submissions.
Delays in award of a contract beyond the anticipated starting date may result in a change in the contract period indicated in the solicitation.

More Definitions of Delays
Delays means delays caused by: (i) any material change to Landlord’s Work requested by Tenant and agreed to by Landlord; (ii) any request by Tenant for a delay in the commencement or completion of Landlord’s Work for any reason; or (iii) any other act or omission of Tenant or its employees, agents or contractors which reasonably inhibits the Landlord from timely completing Landlord’s Work.
Delays means the time spent in traffic beyond the expected one. There are many reasons why traffic delays occur, which are included in the variable Harmony in Traffic. Some of these reasons include congestion, weather, road works and driver behavior. Delays have a circular relationship with harmony, as do several variables with each other, see chapter 5.3.1. Just as harmony is affected by delays, delays affect harmony. An increase in traffic harmony means a reduction in delays, just as fewer delays in turn improve harmony. And so it goes on for what could be seen as endlessly. But because they are also influenced by other variables, the loop will not only be constantly positive or negative and changes over time.
Delays means certain delays in the construction of the Site and Shell Improvements or the Tenant Improvements or both, as described in Section 0.

Management is going to give special weight to high-impact delays, meaning worry more about a 30-day delay once every 10 years than a 15-day delay once every 5 years even though they both average out to 3 days a year, especially where computers are involved. But don't get the idea that prioritization doesn't work for operational delays, because it does. A delay can be figured both in dollars and in mission delay; so a very long delay, say 60 days, that got dissipated to insignificance because it should not happen but once every 75 years. This delay might result in such a big money loss that the priority for the annualized dollar impact would still remain large and deserving of high-dollar hand wringing.
