Discriminatory Harassment means unwelcome conduct that is based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age (40 or older), disability, or genetic information where:
Discriminatory Harassment means engaging in a course of vexatious comment or conduct, directed at an Employee in the course of their employment, based on a Protected Ground, that is known or ought reasonably to be known to be unwelcome. Discriminatory Harassment may include, for example, racist jokes, sexual harassment or gender-based harassment.
Discriminatory Harassment includes comments or conduct based on the protected grounds outlined in provincial Human Rights legislation where it is offensive or not welcomed by the individual. Some examples of discriminatory harassment are: • Offensive comments, jokes or behaviour that disparage or ridicule a person’s race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, creed or disability • Imitating a person’s accent, speech or mannerisms • Persistent or inappropriate questions about whether a person is pregnant, has children or plans to have children • Inappropriate comments or jokes about an individual’s age, sexual orientation, personal appearance or weight (whether they are under or over weight) • Refusal to associate or work with an individual because of their age, race, color, creed or any other protected attribute • Creating, displaying or distributing derogatory or offensive written materials that imply the inferiority of a protected group of people.
