Acting Battalion Chief Pay. If an employee acts in a higher rank of Battalion Chief for a period of at least 4 hours on a shift day, that employee will receive premium hourly pay equal to 15% of the top captain straight time hourly rate for all hours worked during the period of time acting therein. Employees are not eligible for acting rank pay for an agreed upon switch day with a Battalion Chief. Any employee on the promotional list or on an approved list established by the Fire Chief shall be eligible for assignment in an acting rank.

Acting Battalion Chief Pay. On any shift in which a Battalion Chief is absent and a Lieutenant is designated by the Fire Chief as the "Acting Battalion Chief" for at least 4 hours, the employee shall be paid additional compensation. If an employee is designated “Acting Battalion Chief” for at least 4 hours, they shall be paid a stipend that is equivalent to the difference between their appropriate hourly rate and the appropriate hourly rate of a 1 year Battalion Chief for each hour worked up to a maximum of twenty four (24) hours in place of their normal wages. Only one (1) employee may receive acting pay per assignment per twenty-four (24) hour shift unless scheduled by the City or when sick time applies and is approved by the Fire Chief or his designee.

  • Overtime Banking Employees desiring to bank overtime may elect to do so under the following criteria: * The half time associated to overtime may be banked up to a total of 24 hours per calendar year.
