In Charge Pay. (a) The Employer shall designate a person to be in charge of a unit. Where such person is absent from the unit for a consecutive time period of two (2) hours or more, an alternate will be designated in charge. (i) When an Employee who holds the position of a Staff Nurse is designated in charge of a unit, such Employee shall be paid an additional $2.00 per hour. (ii) When an Employee who holds the position of an Assistant Head Nurse is designated in charge of a unit, such Employee shall be paid an hourly rate which is no less than what a Staff Nurse at the same pay step would be paid when designated in charge. (c) The Employer shall prepare a document specifying the roles and responsibilities of a person designated in charge, including the authority or process for augmenting staff. Copies of such documents shall be on hand at each nursing unit and shall be available to each Employee upon request. (d) Where, as of June 14, 2010, the person in charge of a unit on a specific Shift was a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse, the person designated in charge of that unit and specific Shift will continue to be a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse. (e) The Employer shall provide an appropriate orientation to an Employee prior to assigning the Employee in charge.

In Charge Pay. Employees who are designated as “In-Charge”, who are designated to perform the immediate daily supervision duties of a supervisor for an entire shift, or tour of duty shall be eligible for a daily stipend of Twenty Dollars ($20) per day, not to exceed five (5) continuous days. The designation must be pre-approved by the Divisional Vice- President or a President Staff member and must consist of the daily direction, planning and controlling of a department or work unit. If the designation is longer than five (5) continuous days, then the Acting Pay provision and process shall apply from the 6th continuous day moving forward.
In Charge Pay. The Employer shall, when no nursing supervisor is on duty, designate an employee(s), to be in charge on the evening, night, weekend and holiday shifts. Such employee shall receive one dollar sixty-five ($1.65) per hour in addition to her regular rate of pay.
In Charge Pay. (A) In determining the designation of “in charge”, each Agency will consider that an “in charge” situation exists when a licensed nursing person has been so designated by management, and assigned immediate/direct responsibilities in the absence of the next higher line of licensed nursing supervision. (B) “In charge” posts will be designated to meet the situation in subsection (a) above, but may also be designated under other conditions to meet Agency operating needs. (C) In the event that the Union claims during the life of this Agreement that a licensed nursing person is in fact “in charge” as defined in subsection (a) and that the Agency has failed to so designate, the matter may be grieved and arbitrated. (D) If a licensed nursing person in the P-1 or NP-6 bargaining unit is designated “in charge” as defined above or by subsequent agreement, he/she shall be entitled to receive an additional $16.00. The “in-charge” rate of pay shall be increased to $18.00 effective July 1, 2018. Should a licensed nursing person be designated “in charge” for less than a full shift, the “in-charge” rate of pay shall be prorated accordingly, effective upon legislative approval.

Where such person is not readily available a Registered Nurse will be designated in charge. (b) When an Employee who holds the position of a Registered Nurse is designated in charge of the nursing unit, such Employee shall be paid an additional two dollars ($2.00) per hour. (c) Where there is not an out of scope management person readily available, an Employee who holds the position of Registered Nurse shall be assigned responsibility for the administrative operations of Agapé Hospice in addition to being designated in charge of the nursing unit. An Employee who holds the position of Registered Nurse shall be paid three dollars ($3.00) per hour in lieu of the premium identified in (b). (d) The Employer shall provide a document specifying the roles and responsibilities of a person designated in charge, including the authority or process for augmenting staff. Copies of such documents shall be on hand at the nursing unit and shall be available to each Employee upon request. (e) The Employer shall provide an appropriate orientation to the Registered Nurse prior to assigning Charge Nurse and/or administrative responsibly. (f) No Employee shall receive payment under (b) and (c) concurrently.

In Charge Pay. ‌ 10.01 Charge Pay shall be paid for the co-ordination of Clinic activities. Where the Nurse Manager is not on duty or she is not available to co-ordinate the Clinic activities or an assignment is made, an Employee may be designated "In Charge" of the Clinic and paid a premium of two dollars ($2.00) per hour effective date of signing the Collective Agreement. The determination of an in-charge assignment will be made in consultation with the Director of Student Life or his / her designate. 10.02 The premiums referred to in 10.01 above shall be in addition to any other premium pay so stipulated in other Articles of this Agreement.

In Charge Pay. Any employee assigned by the Employer as “in-charge” shall receive fifty cents ($.50) per hour over the regular rate of pay. An employee is “in charge” if they are expected to provide advice and work instructions to other employees on a night or weekend shift when managers are not regularly scheduled to work but does not otherwise act as a lead.
