Acting Battalion Chief hours of regular Captain's wages will be given for each full work shift worked out of grade. As of January 1, 2013, 2.8 hours of regular Captain's wages will be given for each full work shift worked out of grade. Assignment will be made entirely at the discretion of the Fire Chief or the Battalion Fire Chief. Payments will be prorated if a shift is split between employees.

Acting Battalion Chief. (a) A Captain assigned to work out of class into the position of Battalion Chief shall be paid a fifteen percent (15%) premium for hours worked. (b) The out of class will be coded in TeleStaff as XXX 00. Overtime for acting BC will be coded OT OOC fifteen percent (15%).
Acting Battalion Chief. If a Battalion Chief position is vacant for 30 or more days, a Captain will be assigned to act up to fill that position. Acting compensation will be 10% above the member’s current rate of pay. For absences of a Battalion Chief of at least a full shift but less than 30 days, a Captain will be assigned to act up to fill that position. Items on the check-off list shall be signed off by a Battalion Chief. Candidate shall forward the completed list to their shift Battalion Chief. The Battalion Chief shall make a recommendation to the Chief Training Officer to convene the review board consisting of the Fire Chief, Chief Training Officer and shift Battalion Chief. Upon successful completion of the review board, the candidate's name will be added to the list of Acting Battalion Chiefs. A copy of the completed check-off list and evaluation notes will be placed in the candidate's personnel file. A current list of personnel qualified as Battalion Chiefs (Acting) shall be maintained.

  • Nurse Representatives & Grievance Committee (a) The Hospital agrees to recognize Association representatives to be elected or appointed from amongst nurses in the bargaining unit for the purpose of dealing with Association business as provided in this Collective Agreement. The number of representatives and the areas which they represent are set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. (b) The Hospital will recognize a Grievance Committee, one of whom shall be chair.
