Additional Leave Following Maternity, Parental or Adoption Leave‌ Upon written request, an employee who elects the extended parental leave benefit, as defined under the Employment Insurance Act, shall be entitled to a leave of absence without pay of up to six (6) consecutive months in addition to statutory requirements. An employee who elects the standard parental benefit as defined under the Employment Insurance Act, shall be entitled to up to twelve (12) consecutive months of leave without pay in addition to statutory requirements.‌

  • Additional Leaves Should an employee require additional time to care for a gravely ill family member, additional leaves may be granted beyond the eight (8) week period specified above. Such additional leave shall be pursuant to Article 13.02
