Currently, the City of Stockton partners with the San Xxxxxxx County Sheriff's Office. They are the only full time, state authorized water borne law enforcement agency in the county. The Sheriff's Boating Safety Unit (BSU) is a year round assignment of six deputies and one Sergeant. All BSU deputies are trained to identify and conduct preliminary investigations. One BSU deputy is assigned as the AWAF coordinator, and will conduct all follow up investigations and processes needed to remove the vessel.
