Associated Counsel. The ATTORNEY shall not assign this agreement or any rights or duties hereunder without written permission of Pacific County. The ATTORNEY may, designate in writing one (1) or more licensed attorneys to associate with, subject to court approval, in the performance of an assigned case. With court approval, the ATTORNEY may also associate with (1) or more licensed attorneys in the performance of this contract, provided that if the attorney is associating for the entirety of this contract, the associating attorney shall also sign this contract. The associated counsel shall also be responsible for the performance of this agreement in the same manner as the Attorney. Associated counsel shall be admitted to and be in good standing to practice law in the State of Washington, pursuant to the rules of the Supreme Court of Washington, and are subject to the Washington State Bar Association Standards for Indigent Defense Services.

Associated Counsel. I have been informed and understand that my attorney may sometimes hire another attorney to assist in the handling of a case. That other attorney is called an “associated counsel.” I understand that the attorney fee agreement should tell me how the fees of associated counsel will be handled.
Associated Counsel. Any counsel associated with or employed by the Attorney shall have the authority to perform the services called for herein, and the Attorney may employ and/or associate counsel to assist them at the Attorney's expense. The Attorney and all counsel employed or associated pursuant to this section shall be admitted to the practice of law in the State of Washington and be in good standing as such, pursuant to the rules of the Supreme Court of the State of Washington. The Attorney shall be responsible for performance of this Agreement; notwithstanding that other counsel may be employed or associated by the Attorney to perform services herein. Attorney shall actively supervise associated and employed counsel throughout the term of the Agreement, and any renewals hereof, to ensure that all cases are promptly and effectively handled from the time of appointment until conclusion of the Attorney's representation of the client. The Attorney shall notify the Court of any proposed association or employment of counsel for purposes of performing the services called for herein, and shall include in such notification information regarding the background, education, training, experience, and qualifications of such counsel, if not one of the Other Attorneys, and any additional training and supervision that is proposed to be provided to such associated or employed counsel for purposes of performing the services called for herein. The Attorney shall be responsible for providing all such training and/or supervision at the Attorney's sole cost and expense. If Attorney associates with Other Attorneys, issues regarding conflicts shall be handled as provided in Section 12.

The Contractor and all associated counsel hired pursuant to this section shall be admitted to practice law pursuant to the rules of the Supreme Court of the State of Washington. Sufficient counsel shall be provided to represent defendants during vacations and illnesses, and in settings in more than one courtroom.

Any counsel employed by the Contractor shall have the authority to perform the Services. The Contractor may employ outside associated counsel to assist at Contractor's expense, which agreement shall include the requirement to follow the standards and terms contained in this Agreement. The Contractor and all associated counsel hired pursuant to this Section shall be admitted to practice in the State of Washington pursuant to the rules of the Supreme Court of the State of Washington. The Parties understand the Contractor may subcontract for defense arraignment Services for defendants while in custody in the King County Jail, the Fife City Jail, the Kent City jail, the Issaquah jail, SCORE jail, or other facility used by the City within thirty (30) miles of the City of Federal Way.
Associated Counsel. Contractor shall notify the City of any counsel or intern employed or contracted with by the Contractor. All such counsel or interns shall agree to abide by the standards and terms of this Agreement. Any counsel employed by the Contractor shall have the authority to perform the Services. The Contractor may employ outside associated counsel to assist at the Contractor’s expense; provided however, that Contractor agrees to provide a copy of the agreement contained in this Agreement. The Contractor and all associated counsel hired pursuant to this Section shall be admitted to the practice in the State of Washington pursuant to the rules of the Supreme Court of the State of Washington. The Parties understand the Contractor may subcontract for defense arraignment Services for defendants while in custody in the King County Jail, SCORE jail, or other facility used by the City within thirty (30) miles of the City of Federal Way. Legal interns may be used only in accordance with Washington State Practice Guidelines and only if properly supervised by the Contractor.
Associated Counsel. The Client acknowledges that it may be necessary for the Firm to associate with other legal counsel and agree that the Firm’s fees set forth above will include fees due associate counsel, which fees shall be divided based upon the work performed and/or obligations incurred by each participating firm. The Client will pay no more in fees with the inclusion of associate counsel than he or she would pay pursuant to this contract if the Firm solely represented

The Attorney and all Attorneys hired pursuant to this section shall be admitted to practice pursuant to the rules of the Supreme Court of the State of Washington. Associated Counsel. Contractor may arrange for other attorneys to perform services under this Contract at Contractor's expense. Contractor may delegate the authority to perform Contract services to an attorney who is licensed to practice law before the courts of record for the State of Washington, unless City objects to services by that attorney. In any event, Contractor shall be responsible for overseeing and approving services performed by other attorneys. Contractor must immediately report to the City any change affecting the maintenance of his or her membership in good standing of the Washington State Bar Association.
