ATTENDANCE AT COMMITTEE MEETINGS. Where an employee is asked by the College and chooses to attend meetings of a College joint or multi-party committee outside of working hours, equivalent time off will be provided as compensation for any travel time and meeting time required. If an employee is required to perform duties on behalf of such a committee, e.g., prepare minutes of meetings or work on a committee project, time will be arranged for such duties during normal working hours. Should this not be possible, equivalent time off will be provided as compensation. Any request for compensatory time off must receive prior approval from the Employer.

ATTENDANCE AT COMMITTEE MEETINGS. The Medical Center shall make a good faith effort to provide relief or scheduled time off to members of the committees under Section 16.1, and 16.2, above, for the purpose of attending scheduled meetings. The committee members must notify the Medical Center, at least two (2) weeks in advance, of the date and time the committee meeting is scheduled. If a meeting is cancelled, the new date and time shall be agreed upon by the committee members and the Medical Center. Individuals representing the nurses on all contractually established committees shall be paid at the regular rate for the duration of the scheduled meeting. The Medical Center will notify nurses whether their attendance on non-contractual committees will be compensated upon being invited to participate on those committees.
ATTENDANCE AT COMMITTEE MEETINGS. Nurses will seek to obtain, as far in advance as possible, scheduled non-productive time for attendance at committee meetings covered in this Agreement. Members of management will undertake reasonable efforts in assisting the nurse to obtain and in granting the requested time off. If a nurse arranges for coverage by a qualified nurse which does not lead to overtime or premium pay, the coverage will be approved.
