Scheduled Time Off. Except where otherwise provided by law or by a specific provision of this Agreement, vacation/holiday or compensatory time must be used for all prescheduled time off taken by an employee.

Scheduled Time Off. 27.2.1. Management will make reasonable effort, considering the operational needs of the District, to accommodate all employee requests for time off. Scheduled time off should normally be requested at least two (2) weeks in advance to increase the likelihood of those dates being approved. 27.2.2. Employees with at least one (1) year’s service must request and take at least forty (40) hours off each year. 27.2.3. Supervisor absences will not affect an employee’s ability to schedule time off unless the time off request is submitted within two (2) weeks of the date requested. 27.2.4. Requests for time off that are submitted beyond six (6) months shall not be approved unless the request is for at least one (1) week in duration. These requests shall be approved based on seniority. Requests for time off that are less than one (1) week in duration must be submitted within six (6) months of the date requested. Time off requests that are submitted within six (6) months shall be approved on a first-come, first-serve basis based on staffing requirements. Excessive single or partial day requests for time off may be cause for denial if the absence(s) is found to negatively impact the effectiveness of work teams, scheduling of work, training, and the ability to take multiple days off by other staff. 27.2.5. Full-day time off requests with less than twenty-three (23) hours’ notice shall be considered unscheduled. All other time off requests, including partial day time off requests, must be requested in accordance with the provisions of this Article and may be considered scheduled at management’s discretion based on business needs.
Scheduled Time Off. Supervisors must make reasonable efforts to allow bargaining unit members to arrange their work schedule allowing for sixteen (16) hours of scheduled time off per semester, taking into account the university’s business needs. Bargaining unit members with appointments for less than one semester shall not receive scheduled time off. When possible, a request for scheduled time off must be made in writing and sufficiently in advance of the schedule change to allow for planning for the absence. The supervisor will respond to the request for scheduled time off within a reasonable timeframe. Such requests shall not be unreasonably denied. This language does not limit a supervisor’s ability to permit additional schedule adjustments. Scheduled time off not taken within the term of the bargaining unit member’s appointment will be forfeited.

The employer may deviate from these wishes only if: - this would jeopardise the continuity of the business process and - it has informed the employee thereof in writing, within two weeks of the employee making their wishes known in writing. ▪ Collective scheduled days off only apply to construction site employees. These days are determined by the employer in proper and early consultations with the works council. If no works council exists they are determined in consultations with the employees concerned or - if they so wish - with a delegation of employees elected by them. ▪ Collective scheduled days off can also be set in hours. ▪ The employer records the dates/hours on which the employee will have collective scheduled time off in an overview for each calendar year. It will provide this overview to the employee at least 10 days before the beginning of the calendar year. If agreed in advance, the overview may cover a period shorter than a calendar year. ▪ If the employer fails to provide this overview even after the employee(s) or one of the employees’ organisations FNV and CNV Vakmensen have demanded that it do so, the parties to the CA will jointly ensure that this happens as yet. ▪ Untaken scheduled days off expire at the end of the calendar year. 3.2.4 Scheduled days off and sickness ▪ The employee accrues scheduled days off when sick. ▪ If the employee is sick on a designated scheduled day off, they have no right to take up that day at another time. ▪ However, the employ...
