Authorized Apprentice Tasks. First Six Months: Apprentices with no previous experience shall perform Groundman's work and may use tools on the ground under the supervision of the Journeyman and/or Xxxxxxx. Next Six Months: Apprentices may perform work on lines that are not energized. Next Twelve Months: Apprentices may perform work in company with a Journeyman on energized secondary circuits having a nominal voltage of not more than 480 volts. Next Twenty-Four Months: Apprentices may perform work assisting a Journeyman on all classes of work. They will not, at any time, work on nominal voltages over 480 volts unless a Journeyman Lineman is on the same pole. All Apprentice Linemen must attend either the AMEC Apprentice Lineman’s School or the IBEW Local 702 Apprentice School located in West Frankfort, IL. Apprentice Linemen who regularly attend a certified Apprentice School and satisfactorily pass all examinations will be given a three (3) month reduction in the last three steps of their Apprenticeship as outlined in this section. If the Union should discontinue its present Apprenticeship Classroom Training Program, the duration of each nine (9) months Apprenticeship progression wage rate step for those employees who have not completed said training program shall immediately thereafter be increased to twelve (12) months each.

  • Adult Apprentices People who are 21 years of age or over at the time of entering into an apprenticeship with the Employer will be paid as per the wage rates set out in the appropriate Appendix to this Agreement. Where special or unusual circumstances occur or apply and where the parties to this Agreement and the adult apprentice agree in writing, the adult apprentice may be paid at a lesser rate, provided that the lesser rate will not be less than the rate for a junior apprentice set out in the appropriate Appendix to this Agreement.

  • Apprentice An apprentice is an em­ ployee who is in training to become a Jour­ xxxxxx Meat Cutter. Apprentices must be at least sixteen (16) years of age. Apprentices may be employed at a ratio of not exceeding three (3) for each seven (7) Journeymen employed by the Employer within the jurisdiction of the Local. A quar­ terly report covering the number of Appren­ tices employed in relationship to the number of Journeymen shall be furnished the Union.   • Apprenticeship Supervision All apprentices shall be supervised by an appropriately qualified tradesperson. The parties shall implement the ESV’s “Supervision guidelines for apprentices working on electrical installations”. These guidelines were developed by the Industry parties under the auspices of the Office of the Chief Electrical Inspector.

  • JOINT APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE There is hereby established a Joint Apprenticeship Committee as defined in paragraph (c) hereof. This Committee shall be composed of four (4) members, two (2) representing the Company and two (2) Journeymen/women employees representing the Union. The Chairperson shall be the Supervisor of Apprentices. The Committee shall meet once a month unless otherwise agreed. It shall be the duty of the Committee:

  • APPRENTICESHIP COMMITTEE The central parties agree that within sixty (60) days of the commencement of this agreement, a joint local committee consisting of up to three representatives each will be formed to discuss the feasibility of establishing an apprenticeship program(s). If such a program is deemed feasible, the local parties will determine the terms and conditions of such program(s). The joint local committee will seek the availability of any federal or provincial funds to cover the costs of such programs.

  • APPRENTICES 6.36.1 The Contractor acknowledges and agrees that, if this Contract involves a dollar amount greater than or a number of working days greater than that specified in Labor Code Section 1777.5, this Contract is governed by the provisions of Labor Code Section 1777.5. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to ensure compliance with this Article and with Labor Code Section 1777.5 for all apprenticeable occupations.

  • CONTRACTOR SUPERVISION Contractor shall provide competent supervision of personnel employed on the job Site, use of equipment, and quality of workmanship.

  • Apprenticeship Training The enterprise agrees to work with the union to improve apprenticeship training and the number of apprentices in training.

  • Apprentice Wages (a) Apprentices’ rates of pay are set out in Appendix B which includes the description of the calculations.

  • Leave of Absence for Union Functions a) Upon request to the Employer, an Employee elected or appointed to represent the Union at conventions shall be allowed leave of absence with pay and benefits.
