JOURNEYMAN LINEMAN. SECTION 1. In the interest of maintaining an efficient system of production at the NNSS and the NTTR, providing for an orderly procedure of referral of applicants for employment, preserving the legitimate interest of the Employees in their employment status, and the elimination of discrimination in employment because of membership or nonmembership in the Union, or because of the race, sex, creed, color, national origin, age, veteran status or handicap of the Employees, the parties agree to the following system of referral of applicants for employment: a. Except as provided in paragraph (i) below, the Union shall be the sole and exclusive source of referrals of applicants for employment. b. The Employer shall have the right to reject any applicant for employment. c. The Union shall select and refer applicants for employment without discrimination against such applicants by reason of their membership or non-membership in the Union, or because of their race, creed, color, sex, national origin, age, veteran status or handicap. The selection and referral of applicants shall not be affected in any way by rules, regulations, bylaws, constitutional provisions or any other aspect or obligation of Union membership policies or requirements, or by the race, creed, color, national origin, age, veteran status or handicap of the applicant. All such selection and referral shall be in accordance with the following procedures. d. The Union shall maintain a register of applicants for employment established on the basis of the groups listed below. Each applicant for employment shall be registered in the highest priority groups for which he qualifies. "Normal construction labor market" is defined to mean the following geographical area: Xxxxx and Lincoln Counties and that portion of Xxx County south of the Mt. Diablo Base Line, State of Nevada.

JOURNEYMAN LINEMAN. Every Journeyman-Lineman hereafter engaged shall as a condition of employment, have the necessary qualifications as recognized by the Municipal Electric Association Reciprocal Insurance Exchange (MEARIE) Group or equivalent. The Corporation may provide facilities and instruction to enable employees to become proficient in their classifications. Attendance at such training session will be compensated at straight time rate of employees’ regularly assigned positions for regular, daily or weekly hours. The cost of course, transportation, accommodation and meals shall be paid by the Corporation.

JOURNEYMAN LINEMAN. < Shall erect and maintain power lines [poles, conductors, transformers and usual line equipment] in an efficient manner. < Shall be able to work on xxxx xxxxx of high voltages. < Supervise men of a lower rating. < Shall be able to work without direct supervision. < Shall be able to make written reports. < Shall be able to work from simple drawings and specifications. < Shall have sufficient technical knowledge to understand simple electrical work, transformer connections, single phase meter connections and the electrical circuits on which he may work. < Must be of good character, in sound physical condition and mentally alert. < May be required to supervise and to perform duties not directly related to line work, as directed by the supervisor or the Director of Municipal Services. < Shall possess a valid Class 3A drivers license. < Shall be willing to participate in training programs if required. < Shall possess a valid Journeyman License for Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Island. < Shall be willing to learn other job classifications within the Electric Department.

  • Journeyman GROUP I: All applicants for employment who have three and one-half (3½) or more years of experience in the trade, are residents of the geographical area constituting the normal construction labor market, have passed a Journeyman's examination given by a duly constituted Outside Local Union of the I.B.E.W., and who have been employed for a period of at least one (1) year in the last three and one-half (3½) years in the geographical area covered by the collective bargaining agreement.

  • Classroom Management The certificated classroom teacher demonstrates in his/her performance a competent level of knowledge and skill in organizing the physical and human elements in the educational setting.

  • Electrician The employer may take an inventory of an employee’s tools when the latter is hired, failing which, the list of tools in the appendix hereto shall prevail. In the event of loss or damage resulting from a fire or break-in, the employer shall replace the tools in question or compensate the employee for up to $600.00.

  • APPRENTICES/TRAINEES 25.1 Apprentices/Trainees shall be entitled to all of the applicable rates and conditions of employment prescribed by this Agreement. 25.2 For clarification, in addition to the rates in APPENDIX 1, Trainees are entitled to receive full Daily Travel, XXXX, BEWT, CIPQ, Superannuation and any other entitlements in accordance with this document. Such entitlements shall not be paid at rates applicable to Apprentices. 25.3 Training arrangements for Apprentices/Trainees shall be as provided in the Building and Construction General On-site Award 2020. 25.4 Apprentices/Trainees shall be entitled to be paid the daily fares and travel allowance whilst attending training. 25.5 The Employer shall be responsible for meeting all costs associated with Apprenticeship/Traineeship training, including any student registration, tuition fee or other course costs. 25.6 During the first year of an Apprenticeship, tools to the minimum retail value of $600.00 shall be supplied by the Employer within a period of three months after the expiry of the probationary period or within a period of six months from the date of commencement of the employment, whichever first occurs. 25.7 During the second and subsequent years (or part of a year) of apprenticeship tools to the retail value of $600.00 shall be supplied by the Employer within a period of three months from the commencement date of each such year (or part of a year) of the indentured Apprenticeship. 25.8 Where an Apprentice has entered a Competency Based Training Agreement, the provision of tools will be on the following basis: (a) During the term of Apprenticeship, an Employer shall, in respect of each level of the apprenticeship program, supply the Apprentice with tools of trade, to a minimum retail value of $600.00. (b) The supply of tools of trade for each level of the program shall be linked to the successful achievement of competencies or, where appropriate, the demonstration of approved levels of progression towards the achievement of competencies as prescribed by the relevant National Training Package or in the relevant Award. (c) Supply of tools will occur no later than three (3) months after the expiry of the probationary period or within a period of six (6) months from the date of commencement of the employment, whichever first occurs, and no later than three (3) months into subsequent levels of the apprenticeship. (d) Apprentices employed under part-time or school based arrangements shall be entitled to a supply of tools consistent with the requirements as outlined in clause 25.6 and clause 25.7 above.

  • Stewards Each UNION shall have the right to designate a working journeyman as a xxxxxxx. The UNION shall notify the EMPLOYER in writing of the identity of their designated xxxxxxx. In addition to his work as an employee, the xxxxxxx shall have the right to receive, but not to solicit, complaints or grievances, and to discuss and assist in the adjustment of the same with the employee's appropriate supervisor. The EMPLOYER will not discriminate against the xxxxxxx in the proper performance of his union duties. The xxxxxxx shall not leave his work area without first notifying his appropriate supervisor or xxxxxxx as to his intent and the reason thereof, he can be reached, and the estimated time that he will be gone. Stewards shall not have the right to determine when overtime shall be worked or who shall work overtime. The EMPLOYER shall have the right to implement a system of written accountability of time spent by all stewards in the performance of their duties whenever they deem such action necessary. The presence or absence of the xxxxxxx shall not affect the work of the craft. The xxxxxxx, in addition to this work as a journeyman, will be permitted to perform during the work hours such of his normal UNION duties as cannot be performed at other times. The UNION agrees that such duties shall be performed as expeditiously as possible and the EMPLOYER agrees to allow the xxxxxxx a reasonable amount of time to perform such duties. The xxxxxxx shall receive his regular craft rate of pay. The xxxxxxx'x duties shall not include any matters relating to any supervisory function over which the EMPLOYER retains sole control. If a xxxxxxx violates any of the rules of this Article, or fails to work or competently perform work assignments, the EMPLOYER shall have the right to take whatever action deemed appropriate, including termination. The working xxxxxxx designated for one EMPLOYER has no authority with regard to the work of another EMPLOYER. If he should become involved in the affairs or disputes of another EMPLOYER, he will be subject to discharge. The EMPLOYER agrees to notify the UNION two (2) working days, confirmed in writing stating the cause, prior to termination of the working xxxxxxx except for a violation of work rules. The xxxxxxx shall be the last EMPLOYEE laid off provided he is qualified to perform the remaining work of the EMPLOYER.

  • Shiftworkers 35.1 Shiftworker for the purposes of this clause is defined as an Employee who performs Shiftwork and who starts or finishes a shift outside of the ordinary hours set out at clause 34.2 above. 35.2 A Shiftworker shall be paid at the rate of double time for all hours worked. 35.3 An Employee who has to work Shiftwork shall be given at least 48 hours of notice of the requirements to work shift work.

  • ENTERTAINERS AND SPORTSPERSONS 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of Article 14, income derived by a resident of a Contracting State as an entertainer, such as a theatre, motion picture, radio or television artiste, or a musician, or as a sportsperson, from that resident’s personal activities as such exercised in the other Contracting State, may be taxed in that other Contracting State. 2. Where income in respect of personal activities exercised by an entertainer or a sportsperson acting as such accrues not to the entertainer or sportsperson but to another person, that income may, notwithstanding the provisions of Article 14, be taxed in the Contracting State in which the activities of the entertainer or sportsperson are exercised.

  • Rotation Where the Employer's designate and the Union's designate at the local level agree that shifts be rotated, the shifts shall be rotated on an equitable basis among the employees involved.
