Bereavement Leave With Pay For the purpose of this clause, immediate family is defined as father, mother, xxxxxx parent, grandmother, grandfather, brother, sister, spouse (including common-law spouse resident with the employee), child (including child of common-law spouse), xxxx of the employee, grandchild, father-in-law, mother-in-law, step relatives and relative(s) permanently residing in the employee’s household or with whom the employee permanently resides.
Funeral/Bereavement Leave In the event of death in the immediate family of an employee, the employee will be granted leave of absence with pay, with consideration given to travel time for the purpose of attending the funeral. SICK LEAVE AND BEREAVEMENT LEAVE Section 1. a. Employees shall be eligible to use paid sick leave after 30 calendar days of service with the Employer. Employees shall earn sick leave as of their date of hire in accordance with the following schedule: Maximum Sick Leave Entitlement Per Year Sick Leave will be 37.5 Hr. Workweek: 82.5 Hrs. (11 days) earned at the rate of 40 Hr. Workweek: 88 Hrs. (11 days) 4.24% of all Regular Hours Paid
Paid Bereavement Leave An employee shall be entitled to bereavement leave with pay as follows:
Bereavement Leave (a) Upon the death of an employee's spouse, spouse to include same sex partner, child or stepchild, an employee shall be granted leave up to a maximum of five (5) continuous calendar days without loss of pay. One of the days of leave shall include the day of the funeral or equivalent service. Additional days off with or without pay may be granted by the Employer. Part-time employees will be credited with seniority and service for all such leave. In the event of a delayed interment or ceremony for reason of religion or other protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code, an Employee may save one of the days identified above without loss of pay to attend the interment or ceremony.
BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 15.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a Tangihanga (or its equivalent). The length of time off shall be at the discretion of the employer.
ARTICLE BEREAVEMENT LEAVE In the case of the demise of a member of the Immediate Family, Permanent and Probationary Employees shall be permitted a leave of absence with pay for three (3) consecutive days. Immediate Family shall mean: father, step-father, mother, step-mother, xxxxxx, bona fide common law husband or wife, brother, sister, son, step-son, daughter, step-daughter, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparents or grandchildren. Bereavement Leave of Absence for the demise of members of the Immediate Family shall not be deducted from the Employee's accumulated sick leave credits. In the case of the demise of a son-in-law, law, brother-in-law or a sister-in-law, Permanent and Probationary Employees shall be permitted leave of absence for three (3) consecutive working days. The first two (2) working days of any Bereavement Leave of absence for the demise of a son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law or sister-in-law shall be paid to Permanent and Probationary Employees. The third working day, if any, of any Bereavement Leave of absence for the demise of a son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law or sister-in-law shall be deducted from a Permanent Employee's accumulated sick leave credits. Permanent and Probationary Employees shall complete the APPLICATION FORM BEREAVEMENT LEAVE PAY SCHEDULE as attached hereto, for consideration for payment by the Employer any Bereavement Leave. Bereavement Leave shall be taken immediately prior to, during, or immediately following the date of the Funeral. An Employee may elect to defer one (1) day of Bereavement Leave to be used for the attendance at the actual internment. When an Employee qualifies for Bereavement Leave during period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such occurrence. The period of vacations so displaced shall be re-scheduled as mutually agreed upon between the Employee and
BEREAVEMENT PAY 22.01 Should a bereavement occur in an employee's immediate family (parent, parent-in- law, spouse, child, brother, sister, grandparent, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchild, step-parent or step-child) the employee shall be granted such time off from work with pay as is reasonable under the circumstances, up to a maximum of three (3) days.
