Bidding of Bus Routes. During the last two weeks in August, bus drivers will be notified of their order of seniority and regular hours of assignment established as of the last day of the prior school year. Drivers, in order of seniority will be invited to bid upon the regular daily assigned route designated for the school year and buses. Drivers may choose by seniority the maximum hours available, not to exceed eight (8) hours, from the routes available. A "regular route" means an AM to school or a PM from school run, "kindergarten runs," or "late runs," or a combination thereof. Upon completion of bidding these assigned routes become the regular assignment
Bidding of Bus Routes. When a driver’s regular route decreases in driving time so as to assert them ineligible for the District health insurance plan, the effected driver(s) may follow this process: The effected driver may request to be placed onto the route of the least senior driver that is eligible for health insurance benefits, provided he/she is of lower seniority than the effected driver. The displaced driver shall assume the route of the effected driver.

As a result of the change in the method of calculating seniority by hire date effective July 1, 1998, bus drivers shall not be offered less regular daily hours by bid in September of 1999 or September 2000 than they bid in September 1998. The District’s percentage contribution for benefits for 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 shall be not less than the District’s percentage benefit contribution was as of October 14, 1998, based on the average daily work hours at the end of that pay period.
