Bumping and Layoffs. In the case of suspension of work in whole or in part, or any reduction in any job classification on any shift, except as provided: (a) under Transfers From Other Locations above and (b) in ARTICLE 8, Hours of Work and Overtime, Section 1, the Company will displace, bump, and/or layoff an employee in the inverse order of seniority, taking into consideration the skill, ability, and physical fitness of the employee to perform the work, and for which the employee can be readily trained within a 30 calendar day period and seniority shall then apply as hereinafter indicated. Any affected employee will have 24 hours to determine their bumping rights from the time they were notified of their bump by a representative from Human Resources.
