Common use of Canine Assignment Clause in Contracts

Canine Assignment. The appointing authority may assign an employee to a canine assignment. The duties of an employee assigned to such assignment shall include training, exercise, procuring food and supplies, veterinarian visits, feeding and grooming and other authorized activities. Employees assigned to canine assignments shall be allowed seven (7) hours per standard work period for the activities cited in the preceding paragraph with their assigned dog(s). Such time will be scheduled within each standard work period as determined by the Probation Officer. Canine care activities time shall be paid at the employee’s current wage rate including applicable premiums and bonuses and is inclusive of any additional or extraordinary time spent on such canine care activities.
