Causes for Discharge.  Wilfully disobeying posted safety rules.  Refusal to comply with Company rules.  Leaving the Mill property without punching time card, unless on Company business or authorized by a Xxxxxxx because of special circumstances.  Smoking in prohibited areas.  Bringing intoxicants into or consuming intoxicants on Mill premises or reporting for duty while under the influence of liquor.  Sleeping on duty.  Neglect of duty.  Deliberate punching of any time card other than his own.  Insubordination.  Destruction, removal, or waste of Company's property.  Reading books, magazines, or newspapers while on duty, except where required in the line of duty.  The disfigurement of bulletin boards and/or interference of Company notices.  Disorderly conduct.  Incompetency.  Neglect causing injury to any person.

Causes for Discharge. The only causes for immediate discharge of an employee shall be for proven theft of money, goods, or merchandise during working hours, proven drunkenness, or proof of being under the influence of liquor or drugs during working hours, calling an unauthorized strike or walkout, assault on Employer or his representative during working hours, failure to report an accident which the employee would normally be aware of, proven recklessness resulting in a serious accident while on duty, or the carrying of unauthorized passengers in the vehicle while on duty, engaging in unauthorized transportation of merchandise or goods for personal gain during working hours, possession of firearms on company property or equipment. Although theft of time shall not be cause for immediate discharge, it is recognized as an offense for which severe disciplinary measures may be invoked. When an employee is discharged, the Employer shall notify the Union in writing. (a) Drug Intoxication The decision of the National Grievance Committee relating to illegal drug induced intoxication is hereby incorporated by reference in this Agreement. Refusal of the employee to participate in the testing procedure provided therein shall constitute a presumption of drug intoxication and shall constitute the basis of discharge without the receipt of a prior warning letter. (b) Leave of Absence - Alcohol and Drug Use Refer to Article 35, Section 3 and Section 4 of the ABF NMFA. (c) The provisions of this Section shall not apply to the probationary employees.

Causes for Discharge. Nothing contained in this Agreement shall be deemed to restrain or limit the Company’s right to formulate and issue reasonable rules necessary for the efficiency of the operation and which are not contrary to any of the terms and conditions of this Collective Agreement and to enforce these rules through discipline, up to and including discharge. It is understood that the reasonableness of these rules and the discipline flowing from the contravention of these rules will be subject to the terms of the Grievance Procedure.

Causes for Discharge. 01. REASONS CONSIDERED SUFFICIENT FOR IMMEDIATE DISCHARGE (a) Violation of “Intoxicants in the Workplace” Policy. Refer to Appendix D.

(g) the carrying of unauthorized passengers in the cab of a truck or in a driveaway unit while on duty; (h) driver willfully permitting unauthorized persons to use or have control over Employer vehicles including driveaway units on public streets or highways; or (i) proven and deliberate sabotage of Employer’s or xxxxxxx’s property.

Destruction, removal or waste of Company's property; Disorderly conduct; Dishonesty; Disobedience; Neglect of duty; Deliberate sleeping on duty; The disfigurement of bulletin boards and interference with Company notices. Any offence sufficiently grave to warrant discharge.
