Changes in the Health and Welfare Program. The Employer contributions provided for in Section 1 above, presently are paid to the Western Teamsters Welfare Trust (WTWT). However, the Western Conference of Teamsters and the Western Motor Carriers, Inc.TMI jointly retain the right to designate or establish one or more different Trusts to which such contributions, in whole or in part, are to be paid in the future, and to effectively recommend to the Trustees of WTWT methods of determining transfer of monies and/or liabilities from WTWT to such newly designated Trust(s).

Changes in the Health and Welfare Program. The parties hereto encourage and authorize the trustees of the various trust funds provided for in this Supplement to explore during the term of this Area Supplement the possibility of merging and/or consolidating health and welfare plans for the purpose of improving the financial soundness and stability of their employee benefit plans. In the event the trustees of any such plan decide to merge or consolidate with another plan which provides substantially equivalent or better benefits at a cost which does not exceed the contribution rate then in effect, the parties hereto agree to be bound by any such decision and to execute such documents as are necessary to implement the successor plan.
