CLIENT CIVIL RIGHTS COMPLIANCE a. Assurance of Compliance The Contractor assures it will comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as amended: Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended; the Age Discrimination Act of 1975 as amended; the Food Stamp Act of 1977, as amended, and in particular Section 272.6; Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990; Government Code (GC) Section 11135, as amended; California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 22 Section 98000-98413; Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations, Section 3105A(e); the Xxxxxxx-Xxxxxxxx Bilingual Services Act; Section 1808 Removal of Barriers to Inter Ethnic Adoption Act of 1996 and other applicable federal and state laws, as well as their implementing regulations [including 45 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Parts 80, 84, and 91, 7 CFR Part 15, and 28 CFR Part 42], by ensuring that employment practices and the administration of public assistance and social services programs are nondiscriminatory, to the effect that no person shall because of race, color, national origin, political affiliation, religion, martial status, sex, age, or disability be excluded from participation in or be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subject to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal or state assistance; and give assurance it will immediately take any measures necessary to effectuate this agreement. This assurance is given in consideration of and for the purpose of obtaining any and all federal and state assistance; and the Contractor gives assurance that administrative methods/procedures which have the effect of subjecting individuals to discrimination or defeating the objectives of the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Manual of Policies and Procedures (MPP) Chapter 21, will be prohibited. By accepting this assurance the contractor agrees to compile data, maintain records, and submit reports as required to permit effective enforcement of the aforementioned laws, rules and regulations and permit authorized CDSS and/or federal government personnel, during normal working hours, to review such records, books and accounts as needed to ascertain compliance. If there are any violations of this assurance, CDSS shall have the right to invoke fiscal sanctions or other legal remedies in accordance with Welfare and Institutions Code Section 10605, or Government Code Section 11135-39, or any other laws, or the issue may be referred to the appropriate federal agency for fur...

  • Civil Rights Requirements The Recipient agrees that it must comply with applicable federal civil rights laws, regulations, and requirements, and follow applicable federal guidance, except as the Federal Government determines otherwise in writing. Therefore, unless a Recipient or a federal program, including the Indian Tribe Recipient or the Tribal Transit Program, is specifically exempted from a civil rights statute, FTA requires compliance with each civil rights statute, including compliance with equity in service requirements.

  • Compliance with Civil Rights Laws The Contractor hereby assures that it will comply with Subchapter VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 USC Sections 2000 (e) (1) through 2000 (e) (17), to the end that no person shall, on the grounds of race, creed, color, sex, religion, ancestry, age, condition of physical handicap, marital status, political affiliation, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under this Contract or under any project, program, or activity supported by this Contract.   • Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance A. PROVIDER and all Subcontractors agree not to discriminate on the basis of disability in accordance with The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, the Wisconsin Statutes secs. 111.321 and 111.34, and Chapter 19 of the Dane County Code of Ordinances. PROVIDER agrees to post in conspicuous places, available to employees, service recipients, and applicants for employment and services, notices setting forth the provisions of this paragraph. B. PROVIDER shall give priority to those methods that offer programs and activities to disabled persons in the most integrated setting. Where service or program delivery is housed in an inaccessible location, and accessible alterations are not readily achievable, PROVIDER agrees to offer “programmatic accessibility” to recipients (real or potential) of said services and programs (e.g. change time/location of service). C. PROVIDER agrees that it will employ staff with special translation and sign language skills appropriate to the needs of the client population, or will purchase the services of qualified adult interpreters who are available within a reasonable time to communicate with hearing impaired clients. PROVIDER agrees to train staff in human relations techniques and sensitivity to persons with disabilities. PROVIDER agrees to make programs and facilities accessible, as appropriate, through outstations, authorized representatives, adjusted work hours, ramps, doorways, elevators, or ground floor rooms. PROVIDER agrees to provide, free of charge, all documents necessary to its clients’ meaningful participation in PROVIDER’s programs and services in alternative formats and languages appropriate to the needs of the client population, including, but not limited to, Braille, large print and verbally transcribed or translated taped information. The PROVIDER agrees that it will train its staff on the content of these policies and will invite its applicants and clients to identify themselves as persons needing additional assistance or accommodations in order to apply for or participate in PROVIDER’s programs and services.

  • Labor Relations; Compliance No Acquired Company has been or is a party to any collective bargaining or other labor contract or agreement, and there has not been, there is not presently pending or existing, and there is not Threatened, (a) any strike, slowdown, picketing, work stoppage, or employee grievance process, (b) any Proceeding against or affecting any Acquired Company relating to the alleged violation of any Legal Requirement pertaining to labor relations or employment matters, including any charge or complaint filed by an employee or union with the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, or any comparable Governmental Body, organizational activity, or other labor or employment dispute against or affecting any of the Acquired Companies or their premises, except as described in Part 3.21 of the Disclosure Letter, or (c) any application for certification of a collective bargaining agent. No event has occurred or circumstance exists that could provide the basis for any work stoppage or other labor dispute. There is no lockout of any employees by any Acquired Company, and no such action is contemplated by any Acquired Company. Each Acquired Company has complied in all respects with all Legal Requirements relating to employment, equal employment opportunity, nondiscrimination, immigration, wages, hours, benefits, collective bargaining, the payment of social security and similar taxes, occupational safety and health, and plant closing. No Acquired Company is liable for the payment of any compensation, damages, Taxes, fines, penalties, or other amounts, however designated, for failure to comply with any of the foregoing Legal Requirements.

  • CIVIL RIGHTS ACT This Agreement is subject to the compliance requirements of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as amended (42 U.S.C. § 2000d) relating to nondiscrimination in Federally assisted programs. The Performer has signed an Assurance of Compliance with the nondiscriminatory provisions of the Act.

  • Medical Leave Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Civil Service Rules, County Code, and other law, medical leaves of absence will be granted by the employee’s Department Head upon request only upon submission of a doctor’s certificate or other satisfactory medical evidence of the employee’s need for such leave.

  • AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) Contractor must comply with the ADA, which provides comprehensive civil rights protection to individuals with disabilities in the areas of employment, public accommodations, state and local government services, and telecommunications.
