Common use of Consecutive Shifts Clause in Contracts

Consecutive Shifts. No employee will be scheduled for more than two (2) different shifts in any one (1) work week unless the employee gives consent, except in emergency situations. Employees will not be required to work consecutive shifts except in emergency conditions. There will normally be at least a minimum of an eleven and one-half (11½) hour break between work shifts except in emergency circumstances. For purposes of this section only, staffing deficiencies which cannot be reasonably anticipated by the Employer shall be considered as emergency circumstances.
