Council Granted Leave. The City Council may grant a regular employee a leave of absence with pay for a period not to exceed one year for reasons the Council considers adequate and in the best interest of the City.

Union Leave (a) Upon receiving a written request at least one (1) week in advance from the Union, the Company will grant leave of absence for not more than two (2) employees at any one time to attend Union conferences, conventions, or workshops, providing that the combined leaves of absence will not exceed forty (40) working days in any one (1) calendar year. Such leaves of absence will be without pay but with maintenance and accumulation of benefits (normal payroll deductions to apply).
Xxxxx’s leave (1) An employee is entitled to use up to 10 days accrued personal leave each year to care for a member of his or her immediate family or a member of his or her household who is ill and requires his or her care. Child Rearing Leave 7.9.1 A permanent employee, who is the natural or adoptive parent of a child, shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence for the purpose of rearing his/her child for a specified period immediately after convalescence from maternity or immediately after completion of appropriate adoption papers.
