Department Of Parks Permit. The Contractor's attention is directed to the following stipulations issued by the Commissioner of Department of Parks and Recreation as applied to work under this Contract:  The Contractor shall, prior to initiation work on park properties, obtain all the necessary permits from the Department of Parks and Recreations.  The Contractor shall coordinate his work with other work being or to be performed in the area by the Parks Department, other Contractors or SubContractors, utility companies or other City or State agencies.  No construction work other than necessary maintenance, emergencies or as required by the City of New York, or its appropriate agency, is to be performed on park property on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays, except by written permission of the Parks Department.  The construction work shall be performed by the Contractor in such a manner that the stability of adjacent park areas or appurtenances is not disturbed.  The Contractor shall assume all responsibility or injury to persons or damage to private and/or City property caused by the Contractor and to save and hold harmless the City of New York and the Parks Department from all claims and suits which may arise therefrom.  The Contractor shall provide and maintain barricades, warning devices, signs, flags, lights, watchman service as required for public safety. The Contractor is responsible for the adequacy of the safety devices and watchman. The watchman shall continuously remain at the openings while work is going on. The Engineer shall have the right to order the Contractor to vary and/or increase the safety devices installed on the work site. All safety devices shall be removed from the work area at end of the day's work, and all openings shall be secured.  The Contractor shall remove all equipment and material from the site at the end of the day's work. No equipment or material shall be left unguarded while work is being performed. The existing drainage and utility system within the limits of the operations shall be maintained during the inspections to the satisfaction of the Parks Department. The Contractor shall replace and restore all planted areas, trees, shrubs, and other existing structures or substructures, utility lines, roads, walks and/or curbs, damaged or destroyed during the work at his expense and such replacement and restoration shall be in accordance with the standards and approval of the Parks Department.
