Disallowance of Vacation Time. The Employer may disallow the taking of any vacation leave by employees subject to the reasonable staffing needs of the Employer. Non-bid vacation leave requests will be considered on a first (1st) come first (1st) served basis. Upon receipt of a non-bid vacation request the supervisor shall have fifteen (15) days to approve or deny the request. If the request is not approved or denied within fifteen (15) days of receipt it will be considered approved. For Command Centers Only, vacation leave may not be used for unexpected, unplanned absences that were not pre-authorized. Exceptions may be made by the employee’s manager on a case by case basis.
