Duty With the Armed Forces Leave. A short-term leave of absence shall be granted to any employee who is a member of the Reserve Corps of the United States or of the National Guard or Naval Militia for a period not to exceed 180 calendar days during any one (1) fiscal year. Such leave will be granted only upon presentation of official orders from military organizations to the employee seeking leave. Any such employee who has been employed by the District not less than one (1) year or who has a combination of District service and recognized military service of not less than one (1) year, immediately prior to the day on which the absence begins, shall be entitled to receive his/her full District compensation as such employee for the first thirty (30) calendar days of such absence--provided, however, such salary or compensation is limited to only thirty (30) calendar days of pay for military leave of absence during any one (1) fiscal year.

  • Xxxxx’s leave (1) An employee is entitled to use up to 10 days accrued personal leave each year to care for a member of his or her immediate family or a member of his or her household who is ill and requires his or her care. The employee is not entitled to take xxxxx’s leave for a particular period if another person has taken leave to care for the person for the same period.

  • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA a. Pursuant to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA, as amended, an employee with more than one (1) year of experience, and who works at least 1250 hours per year, shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence, of up to twelve (12) weeks, during a twelve (12) month period, for one or more of the following:

  • Family Violence Leave Family Violence Leave as provided for by the Holidays Act 2003 is in addition to other leave allowances within the collective agreement.

  • Family and Medical Leave Act All employees who worked for the Employer for a minimum of twelve (12) months and worked at least 1250 hours during the past twelve (12) months are eligible for unpaid leave as set forth in the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993. Eligible employees are entitled to up to a total of 12 weeks of unpaid leave during any twelve (12) month period for the following reasons:

  • Mourner's Leave One (1) day's leave shall be granted without loss of pay or wages to attend a funeral as a pallbearer.

  • Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness Leave a) Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness leaves granted to a permanent Teacher or long-term Occasional Teacher under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, 2000, as amended.
