Earning Rates. An employee shall accumulate paid sick leave without limit at the rate of .0462 hours for each hour, exclusive of overtime, that he/she is in pay status, or approximately twelve (12) days per year for an employee who works 1950 hours.

Earning Rates. A non-exempt employee shall accrue sick leave at the rate of 0.0462 hours for each hour worked exclusive of overtime. This equates to approximately twelve (12) days per year for an employee who works 1950 hours. (Telecommunicators shall accrue eight (8) hours per month, four (4) hours per pay period.) An exempt employee shall accrue sick leave at a rate of 7.5 hours per month (3.75 hours per pay period) when working on a 100% appointment. This equates to twelve (12) days per year. Sick leave accrual for non-exempt employees is prorated based on hours in pay status. Sick leave will continue to accrue while an employee is using sick, vacation or personal leave. There shall be no limit to the number of sick leave hours carried over year to year.

  • Hiring Rates The hiring rates of pay for new employees shall be at the minimum of the appropriate range as outlined in Appendix "A", except where there is agreement between the Employer and the Union to hire above the minimum.

(c) Night rate – applies to ordinary hours of duty (other than overtime) that fall between 2000hrs and until the completion of a rostered night duty from midnight Sunday/Monday to midnight Friday/Saturday and shall be paid at quarter time (T0.25) in addition to the ordinary hourly rate of pay. (d) Overtime and weekend/public holiday or night rates shall not be paid in respect of the same hours, the higher rate will apply.
