Sick Leave Hours. An employee may donate a portion of his or her accrued sick leave to 4 another leave eligible employee provided the donating employee’s sick leave balance will be 100 5 hours or more following the donation. The donation will occur following written approval from both 6 the donating and receiving employee’s directors. An employee may not donate more than 25 hours 7 of accrued sick leave in a calendar year.

Sick Leave Hours. Provided that the unit member is reemployed within 39 months from the effective date of layoff, sick leave hours earned and unused at the time of layoff shall be restored upon reemployment, unless the unit member transferred sick leave hours after accepting employment in another California school district, county office, or community college district employer within one year of the effective date of layoff. In such cases, the unit member shall be entitled to transfer back only those hours that remain with the other employer.

Sick Leave Hours. Any regular, probationary or term-limited temporary 18 employee whose sick leave accrual balance exceeds one hundred (100) hours may donate to any 19 other regular, probationary or term-limited employee a portion of his or her accrued sick leave upon 20 written notice to the donating and receiving employees’ department director(s). Sick leave hour 21 donations are strictly voluntary. No employee may donate more than twenty-five (25) hours of 22 his/her accrued sick leave in a calendar year.
23 1. Donated hours shall be converted to a dollar value based upon the donor’s 24 straight time hourly rate.
25 2. Employees are prohibited from offering or receiving monetary or any other 26 compensation in exchange for donating sick leave hours.
27 3. Donated sick leave hours must be used within ninety (90) calendar days. 28 Donated hours not used within ninety days or due to the death of the receiving employee shall revert 1 to the donor.
Sick Leave Hours shall be of equal value regardless of job classification, pay range or position of the donating employee.

Any full-time regular employee or part-time regular employee who is 28 employed at least half-time and received vacation and sick leave may donate a portion of his or her 1 accrued sick leave to a full-time regular employee or part-time regular employee who is employed at 2 least half-time and receives vacation and sick leave, upon written notice to the Council Administrator 3 or designee.
4 2. No donation shall be permitted unless the donating employee’s sick leave 5 accrual balance immediately subsequent to the donation is one hundred (100) hours or more. No 6 employee may donate more than twenty-five (25) hours of his or her accrued sick leave in a calendar 7 year.

Donated sick leave hours must be used within ninety (90) calendar days. 9 Donated hours not used within ninety (90) days or due to the death of the receiving employee shall 10 revert to the donor. Donated sick leave hours shall be excluded from the sick leave payoff provisions 11 contained in this Agreement, and sick leave restoration provisions contained in this Agreement.
