Educational Leave for Non-Attorneys a. PEF shall provide, with the approval of the President of PEF or his or her designee, short-term educational leaves which would consist of workshops, conferences or concentrated courses. Such leaves may be either requested by the employee or required by PEF. b. Educational leave shall be a leave with full pay with PEF reimbursing said employee for payment of books and tuition, in accordance with paragraphs A (1) (Staff Development and Training) above or A (3) (Tuition Reimbursement) below whichever applies, and transportation, room and board. c. Applications must be made to the President of PEF or his/her designee through the employee’s immediate supervisor, and must include the supervisor’s recommendation to approve or deny, at least three (3) weeks prior to the beginning of the educational opportunity, unless otherwise approved. d. PEF shall grant at least one (1) week notice to employees required to attend such overnight workshops, conferences or concentrated courses unless there is no objection from the employee.
