Emergency Leave: Natural Disasters. In the event an 30 employee is unable to reach work from home because of conditions resulting from 31 a natural disaster, i.e. flooding, landslides, earthquake, fire, the Board of Education 32 shall grant an emergency leave of absence to the affected unit members. This 33 leave shall be granted without loss of pay and shall not be charged against the 34 employee’s Personal Necessity Leave or other paid leaves.

  • NATURAL DISASTER LEAVE Where a permanent employee is unable to attend work because of a natural disaster, i.e. bushfire or flood, they will be entitled to be paid ordinary pay for the shift they would otherwise have worked on that day. This entitlement will apply once per calendar year and is not cumulative from year to year.

  • Emergency Services Leave (a) An Employee who engages in a voluntary emergency management activity is entitled to be absent without loss of pay from his or her employment for a total of 5 days per annum commencing at the start of each calendar year. For the avoidance of doubt, any days not utilised by the Employee by the end of the calendar year, do not carry over into the subsequent year. (b) Voluntary emergency management activity has the meaning provided by the FWA.
