Entitlements During Unpaid Leave. For the first thirty (30) calendar days of any unpaid leave, an employee shall continue to accrue vacation entitlements and group benefit coverage shall continue. From the thirty first (31st) day of the unpaid leave to the last day of the unpaid leave, an employee shall no longer accrue vacation entitlements and group benefit coverage shall cease, subject to Article 39.05. Employees shall not be entitled to statutory holidays which may fall during an unpaid leave of absence. Employees shall continue to accrue seniority during an unpaid leave of absence. Upon expiry of an unpaid leave, an employee shall return to their former job.

  • Unpaid Leave 6. Accrued compensatory time off may be used at the employee’s discretion, with management approval, after exhaustion of 100% sick leave (No. 3 above). However, FLSA compensatory time off shall not be counted against the employee’s four (4) month (nine [9] pay period [720 hours]) family or medical leave entitlement. Therefore, any use of FLSA compensatory time off under this Section shall extend the employee’s family or medical leave by the total amount of FLSA compensatory time off used.

  • Accrual During Leave Without Pay No employee who has been granted a leave without pay or unpaid military leave shall accrue any vacation credit during the time of such leave, nor shall an employee who is absent without pay accrue vacation credit during the absence.
