Examination Arrangements. 8.1. The language of the thesis and viva voce will be detailed in the individual Student Contract. The abstract must be prepared in both languages of the awarding institutions. Candidates should submit sufficient copies of a thesis for each of the examiners, and an additional copy for each institution. The thesis and the examination process should meet the criteria for the award of the relevant degree in the regulations of both institutions. Where the procedures of both institutions are substantially different, criteria must be drawn up which satisfy the minimum requirements of both institutions. Such criteria will be agreed in advance of any candidate being admitted by the Chair of the Graduate School Board (or her nominee) at Kent and XXXX at XXXX.

Examination Arrangements. The assessment regulations and conduct of the Examination Board for the Study Abroad Programme (Part A) will be subject to the Regulations for the Examination of Undergraduate Courses at QUEEN’S, as contained within the University Calendar. Those relating to Master’s Degree Programmes (Part B) will be subject to the Regulations for the Examination of Postgraduate Taught Courses at QUEEN’S, as also contained within the University Calendar.

Such arrangements will be agreed in advance of any students being admitted by the two Parties and appended to this Agreement. The examination board should comprise of a minimum of one examiner from each of the institutions outlined in the student contracts, and a minimum of one examiner external to both institutions. Additional examiners from either institution of the two institutions, or external to both Parties may be appointed. There should be a minimum of 3 voting members on the panel and not more than 5. The joint supervisors may attend the viva voce as silent observers. There should normally be one formal oral examination at which all the examiners are in attendance. The oral examination will take place at a mutually agreed location as set out in the Student Contract. All examiners are required to submit independent written reports of the thesis to each institution prior to the examination and within the time frame, as stipulated by the relevant regulations. After examining the thesis presented by the student and considering the results of any oral examination which they have conducted the examiners, at their discretion the examiners will recommend to the institutions appropriate action. Examiners will be expected to submit a final joint report to each institution for approval. The institutional costs of the viva voce examination will be paid jointly by the two institutions unless alternative arrangements are specified in the Student Contract. Should a second examination be required the allocation of costs will be at the discretion of the two institutions concerned. At the end of a successful examination the student will be awarded, in accordance with the regulations of the respective Parties, a joint award. Examination Arrangements. The thesis will be written in: English The length of the thesis, in words, will be: Between 75,000 and 100,000 words The viva voce examination will be conducted in: English Examination panels will have a minimum of five members, including an examiner who is external to all of the partner universities and will be appointed in accordance with the minimum requirements of the degree‐awarding universities. The arrangements for the panel and the location of the examination will be detailed separately from this agreement. The TEEME Academic Board will ensure compliance with any specific institutional requirements of the partner university that is hosting the viva.

  • Eye Examinations For all covered EMPLOYEES required to use VDTs on average at least two (2) hours per day, the Department will provide a base line eye examination at the Occupational Safety and Health facility ("OSH"), followed by an eye examination at OSH once a year.

Employees may be required to take skin tests, x-ray examination, vaccination, inoculation and other immunization (with the exception of a rubella vaccination when the employee is of the opinion that a pregnancy is possible), unless the employee's physician has advised in writing that such a procedure may have an adverse affect on the employee's health.

No disciplinary action or other recrimination shall be taken against an employee refusing to submit to a polygraph examination, nor shall any comment be entered anywhere in the investigator’s notes or anywhere else that the employee refused to take a polygraph examination, nor shall any testimony or evidence be admissible at a subsequent hearing, trial, or proceeding, judicial or administrative, to the effect that the employee refused to take a polygraph examination.
