Extended Leave Scheme. 44.1 At the election of an employee, and with the written agreement of the employer, provision may be made for an employee to receive, over a four year period, 80% of the salary they would otherwise be entitled to receive in accordance with this Agreement.
44.2 On completion of the fourth year, the employee will be entitled to 12 months leave and will receive an amount equal to 80% of the salary they were entitled to in the fourth year of deferment.
44.3 Where an employee completes four years of service under this extended leave scheme and is thereby not required to attend duty in the fifth year, the period of non-attendance will not constitute a break in service and will count as service for all purposes.
44.4 If the employer agrees, the employee may by written notice withdraw from this scheme prior to completing the four year period. The employee will receive a lump sum payment of salary forgone to that time but will not be entitled to equivalent absence from duty.

Extended Leave Scheme. 53.1 An Employee may make written application to CFA FRV to receive 80 per cent of the salary they would otherwise be entitled to receive in accordance with this Agreement and for the 80 per cent salary to be applied over a 4 year period.
53.2 On completion of the fourth year, the Employee will be entitled to 12 months leave and will receive an amount equal to 80 per cent of the salary they were entitled to in the fourth year of deferment.

53.4 At the written request of the Employee, CFA FRV may agree to the Employee withdrawing from this scheme prior to the completion of the 4 year period.
53.5 Where it is agreed that the Employee’s participation in this scheme will terminate prior to the end of the 4 year period, the Employee will:
i. Receive a lump sum payment equivalent to 20 per cent of each year’s salary the Employee would otherwise be entitled to receive in accordance with this Agreement or a previous or subsequent Agreement for the period the Employee was participating in the scheme; and
ii. Not be entitled to equivalent absence from duty.
Extended Leave Scheme. General principles
Extended Leave Scheme. Cessation of the Extended Leave Scheme
(a) No Agreements for extended leave will be agreed/approved on or after 1 January 2015.
(b) Individual extended leave agreements made and approved prior to 1 January 2015 will continue in accordance with this clause.
(c) When an extended leave agreement made and approved prior to 1 January 2015 expiries, there shall be no renewal or extension of that agreement. General principles
(d) This scheme allows for 5 year agreements, comprising 4 years of work, followed by 1 year of extended leave.
Extended Leave Scheme. The Extended Leave Scheme in clause 55 of the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2016 (2016 Agreement) was closed to new applications on 30 September 2016. Arrangements entered into prior to 30 September 2016 will continue to operate in accordance with Clause 55.2 of the 2016 Agreement.
