Extension of Maternity Leave. If the birth takes place after the due date, the professor shall be entitled to an extension of her maternity leave equal to the period between the due date and the actual delivery date, unless she is already entitled to at least two (2) weeks’ maternity leave after the birth. An employee may be granted an extension of her maternity leave if her state of health or that of her baby so require. The duration of this extension shall be as indicated on the medical certificate provided by the professor. During these extensions, the professor shall be considered on leave without pay and shall receive no benefits or allowances from the College. During these periods, the professor shall be covered by clause 5-6.55 for the first six (6) weeks and subsequently by clause 5-6.56.
