Extra Duty Sick Leave. In order to maintain consistency with the overload sick leave policy described above in section 6.1.2.1, unit members with extra duty contracts will be authorized extra duty paid sick leave equal to one (1) hour for each one (1) hour of extra duty time assigned per semester or per one-half of the fiscal year. For unit members on 199-day contracts, extra duty sick leave shall be granted and made available on July 1 and January 1. For unit members on 177-day contracts, extra duty sick leave shall be granted on the first contract day of the fall and spring semesters. Hours of extra duty sick leave assigned during the first half of the year or in the fall semester of the academic year may be carried over and used during the second half of the fiscal year, or during the spring semester of the academic year, if the extra duty contract has a duration of one full fiscal or academic year. However, in all circumstances, hours of extra duty sick leave granted but not used in one fiscal year may not be carried into subsequent fiscal years.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Sick Leave The employee is eligible for long term disability benefits if provided for in the Collective Agreement. An employee will not receive pay for the first two (2) weeks of any period of absence due to a legitimate illness. The employee may utilize the paid holiday bank as income replacement for absences due to illness, as described in Article (c) above. An employee who is eligible may apply for Employment Insurance for weeks three (3) through seventeen (17) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. The Home will provide the employee with Disability Income Protection as per Article 14.01 (c) for weeks eighteen (18) through thirty (30) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. Employees may be required to provide medical proof of illness for any absence of a scheduled shift, which is neither vacation nor an approved leave of absence.

  • Accrued 100% sick leave The use of sick leave under this subsection is at the employee's discretion.

  • Family Sick Leave An employee may use Family Sick Leave for the illness of a member of the employee's immediate family who requires the care and assistance of the employee. Up to eighty (80) hours per calendar year of the employee’s accumulated unused sick leave may be used for this purpose.

  • Sick Leaves a. After the first year of full-time employment, a full-time faculty member who, by reason of personal illness or a medically certified disability is incapable of performing the regular duties of a faculty member, shall be entitled to a sick leave, with full pay (in lieu of contract salary which otherwise would be earned), for a period not to exceed six months. In no event, however, shall the University’s payment for sick leave exceed one-half (1/2) of the faculty member’s then prevailing annual contract salary. If the faculty member receives governmental disability benefits and/or workers’ compensation benefits during the period of absence, the faculty member shall be paid the difference between the benefits received and the benefits provided above.

  • Unpaid Sick Leave The City Manager shall, upon the advice and recommendation of the City physician, grant unpaid sick leave for up to one (1) year upon application of any employee whose paid sick leave is exhausted. Any extension of such leave shall be subject to the Civil Service Board rules.

  • Sick Leave Donation In accord with state law and Medical Center policy, RN’s may donate sick leave to any employee entitled to receive such donations.

  • Court Duty Leave Any teacher who is called for jury duty or is a subpoenaed court witness shall receive a leave of absence to fulfill his/her civil obligation. The teacher will be paid the difference between his/her full pay as a teacher and compensation for jury duty or as a witness. Evidence of both services and remuneration is to be provided by the teacher. Court duty leave does not apply to employees who have a need to appear in court for personal matters or because of litigation against the school corporation.

  • Sick Leave Payment (a) The District shall for all Regular Full-time and Regular Part-time employees who have completed three (3) months continuous employment, subject to the conditions as set forth herein:
