Extra Shift Sign-up Sample Clauses

Extra Shift Sign-up. After full and part-time employees have been scheduled and twelve (12) days before the schedule is to be posted under 1.1 above, the Employer shall notify per diem employees of available shifts. Within six (6) days of notification, per diem employees shall sign up for available shifts up to 112 hours in a scheduled period. Six (6) days prior to the posting of the work schedule, the Employer shall notify all employees of, and such employees may sign up for, available extra shifts. If more than one employee signs up for an available extra shift, the Employer shall first award the shift to the most senior qualified employee for whom the hours would constitute straight time. If no employees are available at straight time, the employer shall award the shift to the most senior qualified employee who has indicated availability to work the shift at overtime. It is understood, however, that this provision shall not (1) obligate the Employer to overtime hours, double-time pay or any other premium payments, or (2) prevent the employer from assigning work to per diem employees for the purpose, in the Employer’s discretion, of maintaining the skills of said per diem employees.

Extra Shift Sign-up. A draft work schedule shall be posted by the twentieth day prior to the start of the schedule. Between the posting of the draft schedule and the tenth day prior to the start of the schedule nurses shall be given the opportunity to sign up for any extra shifts that they are available and qualified to work. The Employer will make a good faith effort to offer extra shifts on a rotating basis to available nurses who have confirmed they are interested, subject to patient care needs and scheduling requirements.
Extra Shift Sign-up. A draft of the work schedule will be available at least two (2) weeks before the schedule is to be posted under 9.F above (e.g., July 1 for August). During the first week that the schedule is available, employees may sign up for desired extra shifts. They do so with the understanding that none of these shifts will be subject to the extra-duty premium described in section N above; and the Hospital has the right to refuse any shifts that may cause overtime to occur. If at the end of the first week unfilled shifts remain, employees agreeing to work such shifts shall be compensated at the rate of time and one-half (1½) for hours worked. If an employee is asked by another employee to cover that employee’s regularly scheduled shift, the time and one-half (1½) described in this section will not apply. Approval by the manager is required for such a trade. Requests must be made in writing. This section will only apply to full-time employees if the employee has worked all normally scheduled shifts during the workweek. PTO-sick shall not count as time worked in this section. For purposes of this section, PTO-Vacation shall apply if approved prior to the schedule being posted.
Extra Shift Sign-up. A draft of the work schedule will be available at least two weeks before the schedule is to be posted under 9.6 above (e.g., July 1 for August). During the first week that the schedule is available, full- and part-time employees may sign up for desired extra shifts. They do so with the understanding that none of these shifts will be subject to the extra-duty premium described in this section; and the Hospital has the right to refuse any shifts that may cause overtime to occur. During the second week that the schedule is available, per diem staff may sign up for or be asked to work any of the remaining open shifts. Full- and part-time employees who agree to work open shifts after the schedule is posted will receive extra-duty premium pay for those shifts. If the employee qualifies for overtime under this Agreement, the employee will not receive the extra-duty premium pay described in this section. Also, if an employee is asked by another employee to cover that employee’s regularly scheduled shift, the extra-duty premium described in this section will not apply. Approval by the manager is required for such a trade. Requests must be made in writing.
