Available ShiftsEmployees on layoff will be offered available shifts for which they are qualified on an as needed basis and shall not incur any penalty for refusal.
Available Shifts. Where a shift comes open with less than twelve (12) hours notice (i.e. sick), part-time employees who have provided the information in :01 above will be contacted at the phone numbers they have provided via group text and provided a thirty (30) minute window to respond to the text indicating they are available for the shift. Where more than one employee has indicated they are available to work the shift at the end of the thirty (30) minute window, it shall be awarded to the most senior employee. Upon expiry of the initial thirty (30) minute window where no employee has responded, the Employer may repeat the process until the shift is filled by a part-time employee, or a casual employee, with seniority being the deciding factor.
Available Shifts. When extra shifts are available, the available shifts shall be sent to all part time and casual employees via electronic means. The first employee to accept to work extra shifts shall be allowed to choose up to three (3) shifts provided that the choice does not trigger overtime.
Available Shifts. ▪ where available shifts remain open after taking into account employee seniority and availability, the junior employees, in reverse order of seniority, are assigned to the open shifts within the posted schedule, up to the maximum number of biweekly shifts the employee has designated a commitment to work. ▪ if there are unexpected shift openings which arise after the schedule is posted, Float Pool employees who have not been assigned to work the number of requested biweekly shifts have the option to work the unexpected openings, in accordance with seniority; where no Float Pool employee accepts such open shift(s), or where there are insufficient part-time employees to work the available open shifts, the Employer may call in casual employees to work the open shift(s). ▪ to retain a rank on the Float Pool, a part-time employee must request and work a minimum of four (4) shifts biweekly, provided there are four (4) biweekly shifts available for assignment to the employee, within the shift schedule; failure to work four (4) shifts biweekly may cause the employee’s status to revert to the casual call-in roster, in accordance with accrued seniority. ▪ an individual part-time employee’s rank on the Float Pool will be based on seniority hours.   • Broken Shifts (a) An employee may agree to work broken shifts at any time; however an employee may be required to work broken shifts in the following circumstances: (i) in homecare; or (ii) in an emergency – including staff absence; or (iii) up to and including a 4 week continuous period for circumstances other than those covered by subclauses 14.4(a)(i) and (ii). (A) Where an employee has served a period of broken shifts in accordance with subclause (iii) the employee shall not be required to serve a further period on broken shifts until he or she has been off broken shifts for a period equivalent to the previous period on broken shifts. (b) A “broken shift” for the purposes of this sub-clause means a single shift worked by an employee that includes one or more breaks in excess of that provided for meal breaks, where the time between the commencement and termination of the broken shift shall not exceed 12 hours. (c) An employee must receive a minimum break of 10 hours between broken shifts rostered on successive days. (d) Where broken shifts are worked, employees shall receive the per shift allowance set out in Item 1 of Table 2 of Schedule B to this Agreement. (e) Payment for a broken shift shall be at ordinary pay with penalty rates and shift allowances in accordance with Clause 18 - Shift and Weekend Work, with shift allowances being determined by the commencing time of the broken shift. (f) All work performed beyond the maximum span of 12 hours for a broken shift will be paid at double ordinary pay.

  • Time Off Between Shifts Failure to provide the minimum number of hours between the commencement of an employee's scheduled shift and the commencement of such employee's next scheduled shift shall result in payment of one and one-half (1½) times the employee's regular straight time hourly rate for only those hours which reduce the minimum hour period. Where the minimum period is reduced as a result of an approved change of shift(s) requested by the employee(s), such premium payment shall not apply. The minimum number of hours for purposes of this Article shall be determined locally and will be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.

  • Hour Shifts When the Employer deems it necessary to implement a twelve (12) hour work day, affected employees shall be notified pursuant to Clause 14.05. The following Clauses shall be replaced or added to the Collective Agreement where appropriate.

  • Minimum Break between Shifts (a) Where it is necessary to work extended overtime, it is agreed that no Employee shall resume or continue to work without having had ten consecutive hours off duty between the termination of the overtime and the commencement of the Employee’s ordinary work on the next day or shift. (b) In the event that an Employee agrees to a request from site management to resume or continue to work without having had ten consecutive hours off duty, the Employee shall be paid at double ordinary time rates until the Employee is released from duty for such period.

  • Scheduled RDOs on Designated Long Weekends It is recognised that there is merit in programming no work on the RDOs adjacent to public holiday weekends during the working year. This will allow Employees to have quality paid family leisure time.

  • Drop Shipped Off loaded by carrier to an Agency loading dock or designated area. There will be no charge to the ordering Agency for this delivery method.

  • Operating Hours Subject to Building Rules and Regulations and such security standards as Landlord may from time to time adopt, the Building shall be open to the public during the Building Operating Hours and the Premises shall be open to Tenant during hours other than Building Operating Hours.

  • Weekdays All work performed outside of the designated shift Monday through Friday shall be paid at time and one-half (1-1/2) the straight-time hourly wage rate.

  • Shift Hours All shifts assigned by the Employer must conform with the following guidelines: (a) Four (4) hour shifts will be the minimum shift permitted in any one (1) day. (b) Shifts of 4, 6 or 8 hours may be assigned, subject to the provisions of Article 9.05.

  • Shifts In the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, the Agency may schedule nursing personnel on a rotational shift basis for a temporary period during the opening of new facilities. The Agency shall not schedule any employee to rotate more than two (2) different shifts in any four (4) week scheduling period. Exceptions may be mutually agreed to by the parties. In the other Agencies, shifts shall not be rotated unless mutually agreed to by the parties.
