Falsifying Emergencies. The intentional false report of, or the intentional failure to report a bomb, incendiary device, fire, weapon, or other emergency in a residential facility or on University property is strictly prohibited. This includes misuse of fire pull stations and the intentional activation of smoke alarms or fire sprinklers. If a violation occurs, the alleged violator may be arrested and go through normal criminal justice proceedings.

Forced or unauthorized entry into any residence hall building, wing, room, or apartment is prohibited. If a violation occurs, the alleged violator may be arrested and will be subject to legal action. University Housing shares the ideology set forth in the Northern Kentucky University Free Expression Policy (Rev. 05/02/2007). Additionally, the posting policy set forth by the University Center Management (Rev. 08/24/2004) provides a foundation for many of the following points. To respect the well being of students living in the Residential Village and Xxxxxxxx Xxxx as well as the staff that works therein, the following additional guidelines have been established for members of the campus community wishing to post items: Permitted methods of advertising * Postings: 8.5” by 11” or 11” by 17” in size * Handbills * Electronic distribution (emails) * Sidewalk chalk * Exceptions can only be made at the discretion of the Director of University Housing given nature and cause of the advertisement. * Registered student organizations must submit advertising to the Office of University Housing for approval (this includes all aforementioned methods). * It is recommended that campus organizations bring their postings to the Office of University Housing in a timely manner to ensure posting. o For physical postings, at least two weeks prior to an advertised activity is recommended. o For electronic distribution or sidewalk chalk approval, one week submission is recommended. * If approval is granted, University Housing staff shall stamp postings (where applicable) and give them to the Hall Directors. The Hall Directors shall then distribute postings to Resident Assistants to post.

  • Unforeseeable Emergency In the event of a Participant’s Unforeseeable Emergency, such Participant may request an emergency withdrawal from his or her Account. Any such request shall be subject to the approval of the Administrator, which approval shall not be granted to the extent that such need may be relieved (i) through reimbursement or compensation by insurance or otherwise or (ii) by liquidation of the Participant’s assets (to the extent the liquidation of such assets would not itself cause severe financial hardship). A Participant may withdraw all or a portion of his or her Account due to an Unforeseeable Emergency; provided, however, that the withdrawal shall not exceed the amount reasonably needed to satisfy the need created by the Unforeseeable Emergency.

  • Contingent Emergency Response 1.   • Release of Claims Under Age Discrimination in Employment Act Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Executive agrees that by executing this Release, he has released and waived any and all claims he has or may have as of the date of this Release for age discrimination under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, 29 U.S.C. § 621, et seq. It is understood that Executive is advised to consult with an attorney prior to executing this Release; that he in fact has consulted a knowledgeable, competent attorney regarding this Release; that he may, before executing this Release, consider this Release for a period of twenty-one (21) calendar days; and that the consideration he receives for this Release is in addition to amounts to which he was already entitled. It is further understood that this Release is not effective until seven (7) calendar days after the execution of this Release and that Executive may revoke this Release within seven (7) calendar days from the date of execution hereof.

  • Medical Leave of Absence Where you have a medical leave of absence due to any medically determinable physical or mental impairment that can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than six months, and you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, a Separation from Service has occurred on the earlier of: (A) the first day on which you would not be considered “disabled” under any disability policy of the Company or Affiliate under which you are then receiving a benefit; or (B) the first day on which your medical leave of absence period exceeds 29 months.

  • Personal Emergency Leave 1. An educator will be granted up to five (5) days of leave per year to cover situations beyond the control of the educator which would significantly impair teaching service. Personal emergency leave may not be used for illness or injury, or illness or injury in the immediate family. Deductions from the gross pay of an educator for this leave shall be made at the degreed substitute rate of pay for each day taken. 2. An educator may be granted up to five (5) days leave without pay for business or personal reasons having unusual circumstances.

  • Medical Care and Emergency Leave An employee is entitled to a leave of absence without pay because of any of the following: 1. A personal illness, injury or medical emergency. 2. The death, illness, injury or medical emergency of an individual described in this Article. 3. An urgent matter that concerns an individual described in this Article. For the purposes of this Article, the individuals referred to in this Article are: - the employee’s spouse - a parent, step-parent or xxxxxx parent of the employee or the employee’s spouse - a child, step-child or xxxxxx child of the employee or the employee’s spouse - a grandparent, step-grandparent, grandchild or step-grandchild of the employee or of the employee’s spouse - the spouse of a child of the employee - the employee’s brother or sister - a relative of the employee who is dependent on the employee for care or assistance. An employee who wishes to take leave under this section shall advise his or her Hospital that he or she will be doing so. If the employee must begin the leave before advising the Hospital, the employee shall advise the Hospital of the leave as soon as possible after beginning it. An employee is entitled to take a total of 10 days’ leave under this section each year. If an employee takes any part of a day as leave under this section, the Hospital may deem the employee to have taken one day’s leave on that day for the purposes of this Article. The Hospital may require an employee who takes leave under this section to provide evidence reasonable in the circumstances that the employee is entitled to the leave. Upon the conclusion of an employee’s leave under this Article, the Hospital shall reinstate the employee to the position the employee most recently held with the Hospital, if it still exists, or to a comparable position, if it does not.

  • Hardship Leave These provisions shall apply for the purpose of allowing employees to donate accrued vacation leaves and compensatory time for use by eligible recipients as sick leave. Agencies will allow employees to make donations of accumulated compensatory time or vacation leave, not to exceed the hours necessary to cover for the qualifying absence as provided in paragraph (d), to a coworker in that Agency or different Agency. To donate to a specific employee in a different Agency, the employee (donor) must submit a written request to their appointing authority/designee. The appointing authority or designee from both the donor’s and recipient’s agencies may authorize the transfer of donated leave between agencies, subject to restrictions on the use of dedicated funding sources and/or other legitimate business reasons. Authorization for transfer of donated leave shall not be unreasonably denied. For purposes of this Agreement, hardship leave donations will be administered under the following stipulations and the terms of this Agreement shall be strictly enforced with no exceptions. (a) The recipient and donor must be regular employees. (b) The Employer shall not assume any tax liabilities that would otherwise accrue to the employee. (c) Use of donated leave shall be consistent with those provisions found under Article 56, Section 2. (d) Applications for hardship leave shall be in writing and sent to the Agency’s Personnel Section and accompanied by the treating physician/practitioner’s written statement certifying that the illness or injury will continue for at least fifteen (15) days following donee’s projected exhausting of the accumulated leave and the total leave is at least thirty (30) consecutive calendar days of absence in combination of paid and unpaid leave. Donated leave may be used intermittently for the same event after the employee has satisfied the eligibility requirements to receive donated leave. (e) Donations shall be credited at the recipient’s current regular hourly rate of pay. (f) Accumulated leave includes but is not limited to sick, vacation, personal, and compensatory leave accruals. (g) Employees otherwise eligible for or receiving workers’ compensation will not be considered eligible to receive donations under this agreement.

  • Personal Medical Leave 1. Accrued 100% sick leave may be used at the employee's discretion. Such leave may be taken before or after the vacation described in No. 3 below. 2. Accrued 75% sick leave may be used following use of all 100% sick leave at the employee’s discretion. Such leave may be taken before or after the vacation described in No. 3 below.

  • Sexual Harassment CONTRACTOR shall have a Sexual and Gender Identity harassment policy that clearly describes the kinds of conduct that constitutes sexual harassment and that is prohibited by the CONTRACTOR’s policy, as well as federal and state law. The policy should include procedures to make complaints without fear of retaliation, and for prompt and objective investigations of all sexual harassment complaints. CONTRACTOR further agrees to provide annual training to all employees regarding the laws concerning sexual harassment and related procedures pursuant to Government Code 12950.1.
