Flex time/Alternative Work Schedules. Employees may request, and department heads may approve, flex time and alternative work schedules. Such requests shall not be arbitrarily nor unreasonably denied. Flex time and alternative work schedules will be defined as: 1. Flex time – Flexibility around a set work schedule and/or flexibility on a daily basis.

Flex time/Alternative Work Schedules. If the County seeks a reduction in force in the Building Maintenance or Custodial classifications during the life of the Agreement, this section will be reopened.
Flex time/Alternative Work Schedules. The City and Union acknowledge the benefits of flexible/alternative work schedules when they meet the needs of both the City and employees. Employees and/or the Union may propose in writing alternative/flexible schedules to the employee’s supervisor/City. The supervisor/City shall consider such proposals and may approve or deny them in its sole discretion. When an alternate/flexible schedule is approved by the supervisor/City the approved schedule shall be attached to the required Human Resources form for processing. All schedule changes shall begin at the start of a new payroll period. The City may discontinue alternative/flexible schedules and return employees to their regular work schedules at its sole discretion, provided, however, the notice is given to employees pursuant to section 17.14 of this Agreement.

  • Alternative Work Schedules Employees may request alternative work schedules such as a nine (9) day - 80 hour two week schedule or a four (4) day - 40 hour week schedule. Management will respond to an employee's request within 15 calendar days. Any changes from existing work schedules will be based on the needs of the service as determined by Management. Employees covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act will not be placed on alternate work schedules that mandate the payment of overtime under the Act.

  • Alternative Work Schedule An alternate forty (40) hour work schedule (other than five (5) uniform and consecutive eight (8) hour days in a seven (7) day period), or for hospital personnel an eighty (80) hour workweek in a fourteen (14) day period and other mutually agreed upon schedules that comply with applicable federal and state law. Employee work schedules normally include two (2) consecutive days off.

  • Alternate Work Schedules Workweeks and work shifts of different numbers of hours may be established for overtime-eligible employees by the Employer in order to meet business and customer service needs, as long as the alternate work schedules meet federal and state law. When there is a holiday, employees may be required to switch from their alternate work schedules to regular work schedules.

  • Flexible Work Schedules An employee may request a modification of their current work schedule to another schedule. The Employer, or its designees, may approve or deny flexible work schedules and retain the responsibility for determining exemptions from, or terminations of, flexible work schedules which adversely affect the operation of the Minnesota Judicial Branch or the level of service to the public.

  • Alternate Work Schedule An alternate work schedule is any work schedule where an employee is regularly scheduled to work five (5) days per week, but the employee’s regularly scheduled two (2) days off are NOT Saturday and Sunday.

  • Flexible Work Schedule A flexible work schedule is any schedule that is not a regular, alternate, 9/80, or 4/10 work schedule and where the employee is not scheduled to work more than 40 hours in the "workweek" as defined in Subsections F. and H., below.

  • Work Schedules Workweeks and work shifts of different numbers of hours may be established by the Employer in order to meet business and customer service needs, as long as the work schedules meet federal and state laws.

  • Modified Work Week Where Employees in a unit have indicated a desire to work a modified work week, the Employer may authorize experiments with modified work week schedule, providing operational requirements permit and the provision of services are not adversely affected. The averaging period for a modified work week shall not exceed three (3) calendar weeks, and the work day shall not exceed ten (10) hours .

  • Regular Work Schedules The regular work schedule for overtime-eligible employees will not be more than forty (40) hours in a workweek, with two (2) consecutive calendar days off and starting and ending times as determined by the requirements of the position and the Employer. The Employer may adjust the regular work schedule with prior notice to the employee.

  • Modified Work/Return to Work Programs The Employer and the Union recognize the purpose of modified work/return to work programs, is to provide fair and consistent practices for accommodating nurses who have been ill, injured or permanently disabled, to enable their safe return to work. The parties undertake to provide safe and meaningful employment for all nurses based on the following objectives and principles:
