Funeral/Bereavement Leave. 20.1 In the event of death in the immediate family of an employee, the employee will be granted a leave of absence with pay, with consideration given to travel time for the purpose of attending the funeral. The length of such absence shall be at the discretion of the Company. The term "immediate family" shall mean: spouse, parent, step-parent, child, step-child, brother, sister, step-sister, and step-brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandmother, grandfather, grandparent-in-law and grandchildren, or any relative living in the household of the employee. In the event of the demise of an aunt or uncle, nephew or niece, an employee will be granted one (1) days leave of absence with pay to attend the funeral.
