Home Instruction. 38.01 (a) The purpose of this article is to provide the terms and conditions of employment for all Home Instruction teachers in the employ of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.
Home Instruction. Teachers who are assigned to after-school home instruction shall be paid at the Regular Hourly Rate.
Home Instruction. A. Home instruction assignments shall be made in the best interest of students. As such, assignments shall be made in progression beginning with staff closest to the student’s regular program, i.e., classroom teacher, grade level teacher, school teacher, district teacher, out of district teacher.
B. The salary paid for home instruction is set forth in the Extracurricular Activities Guide of this Agreement.
Home Instruction. Home Instruction Teachers shall receive a per hour of instruction rate (see chart below).
Home Instruction. The classroom teacher shall give the home tutor objectives for each student on home instruction but is not expected to do the planning, instruction or grading for this student.
Home Instruction. Home Instruction work shall first be offered to the student’s classroom teacher. If the student’s teacher declines, home instruction shall be offered in the following order: To other teachers in the school;

Home Instruction. Information will be sent to the building principals for posting regarding the possible need for teachers of pupils who may be approved for state-reimbursed home instruction. Interested bargaining unit members may submit their names at any time to the Pupil Services office indicating the areas in which they are qualified to teach. Assignments will be made in the following priorities:
1. Classroom Teacher
2. Teachers from the student’s home school
3. Regular certificated personnel of the Elyria City Schools
4. Other certificated/licensed persons In the event the student’s teacher has not indicated a prior interest, the teacher will still be granted first choice upon application.
Home Instruction. The Parties agree that job assignments for Home Instruction shall be allocated according to the Administrative Procedure & Guideline (APG) developed in consultation with OECTA Sudbury Secondary Local in 2008 and that any future revisions to this APG will be developed in consultation with the OECTA Sudbury Secondary Local.
Home Instruction. The rate of pay for teachers who volunteer for home instruction shall be $35 per hour during the term of this agreement.
