How Accumulated. Subject to Clauses (b), (c) and (d) of this Gratuity Plan, an employee shall be credited with 8 hours for each complete quarter of every calendar year worked by the employee and not more than 32 hours for each calendar year worked by the employee. An additional credit of 8 hours shall be given for each completed calendar year during which the employee was not on paid sick leave. An employee may accumulate a credit of not more than 960 hours under this Gratuity Plan.
How Accumulated. Subject to paragraphs (b), (c) and (d) of this Gratuity Plan, an employee shall be credited with 1 (one) working day for each complete quarter of every calendar year worked by the employee and not more than 4 working days for each calendar year worked by the employee. An additional credit of 1 (one) working day shall be given for each completed calendar year during which the employee was not on paid sick leave. An employee may accumulate a credit of not more than 120 working days under this Gratuity Plan.
How Accumulated. (i) A credit of one (1) day shall be given for each four (4) month segment of the calendar year (January to April, May to August, September to December) in which the employee has no absences on Short Term Disability, which may be accumulated to a maximum of 120 working days. An absence that commences in one four month segment and continues into the next segment shall, for the purposes of gratuity credits, be treated as an absence in the first segment only. No credits shall be given in a calendar year in which an employee is absent for six (6) or more days of Short Term Disability. No credits shall be given for a four (4) month segment where an employee is absent for the entire segment on Medium Term or Long Term Disability.
(ii) The total gratuity credited to each employee at December 31st of each calendar year will remain to such employee's credit regardless of time lost in any subsequent year through illness or any other reason.
How Accumulated. Subject to Clauses (b), (c) and (d) of this Gratuity Plan, a member shall be credited with eight (8) hours for each complete quarter of every calendar year worked by such member and not more than thirty-two (32) hours for each calendar year worked. An additional credit of eight (8) hours shall be given for each completed calendar year during which the member was not on paid sick leave. A member may accumulate a credit of not more than nine hundred sixty (960) hours under this Gratuity Plan.
How Accumulated. Each contracted employee will accumulate a total of fifteen (15) days of sick leave per year at the rate of one and one-fourth (1 1/4) days per month of service. Such sick leave shall be accumulated in an amount not to exceed 245 days. A newly contracted staff member will be credited with his/her advancement of five (5) days of sick leave at the beginning of the school year, but these days shall be part of the fifteen (15) accumulated during the school year at the rate of one and one-fourth (1 1/4) days per month of service. Employees on sick leave shall receive their regular daily rate of pay.
How Accumulated. A credit of three (3) working shifts shall be credited to each employee for each complete calendar year worked, or for a part year, a credit of one (1) day for each four (4) months of service, which may be accumulated to a non‐renewable, non‐replenishable career maximum of one hundred and twenty (120).
How Accumulated. A credit of the number of hours equivalent to three (3) duty shifts (in accordance with Clause 5) per annum shall be given for each year of service, or for part of a year a credit of hours equivalent to one (1) duty shift for each four (4) months of service which may be accumulated to a maximum number of hours equivalent to 120 duty shifts.
How Accumulated. (i) A credit of the number of hours equivalent to three (3) duty shifts per annum shall be given for each year of service, or for part of a year a credit of hours equivalent to one (1) day for each four (4) months of service, which may be accumulated to a lifetime maximum number of hours equivalent to 120 duty shifts.
(ii) For the period from 2016 January 01 to and including 2019 December 31, instead of being entitled to the benefits and subject to the conditions contained in Subsection (a)(i), each employee shall be credited with the number of hours equivalent to one (1) working day for each four (4) months. In addition, any employee who is not absent on sick leave at all during each of the calendar years 2016 to 2019 shall be entitled to the number of hours equivalent to one (1) additional day's credit, thereby making possible a total of the number of hours equivalent to four (4) working days' credit for each of the calendar years 2016 to 2019 in the event an employee is not absent on sick leave. Commencing at 11:59 p.m. on 2019 December 31, the employees shall again be bound by the provisions of Article 7.4(a)(i) unless on or before 2020 March 31 the City and the Union agree in writing to reinstitute the provisions of Article 7.4(a)(ii) herein for a further period.

(b) For the period from 1995 January 01 to and including 1995 December 31, instead of being entitled to the benefits and subject to the conditions contained in Subsection (1)(a) of Article 6.9, each employee shall be credited with the number of hours equivalent to one (1) working day for each four (4) months. In addition, any employee who is not absent on sick leave at all during 1995, shall be entitled to the number of hours equivalent to one (1) additional day's credit, thereby making a total of the number of hours equivalent to four (4) working days' credit for each year in the event an employee is not absent on sick leave during the year. Commencing at 11:59 p.m. on 1995 December 31 the employees shall again be bound by the provisions of Subsection (1)(a) of Article 6.9 unless on or before 1996 March 31 the Corporation and the Union agree in writing to reinstitute the provisions of Article 6.9(1)(b) herein for a further period.
