INTERNATIONAL AID AND DEVELOPMENT. 41.01 The Employer agrees to deduct on a weekly basis the amount of one cent ($0.01) per hour from the wages of all employees in the bargaining unit for all hours worked and, prior to the 15th day of the month following, to pay the amount so deducted to the “Humanity Fund” and to forward such payment to United Steelworkers National Office, 000 Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, XXXXXXX, Xxxxxxx, X0X0X0, and to advise, in writing, both the Humanity Fund, at the aforementioned address, and the Local Union that such payment has been made, the amount of such payment and the names of all employees in the bargaining unit on whose behalf such payment has been made. The first “Humanity Fund” deduction as aforesaid shall be for the fifth week following ratification of this Agreement. It is understood and agreed that participation by any employee in the Bargaining Unit in the program of deductions set forth above may be discontinued by any employee in the bargaining unit after the receipt by the Employer and the Local Union of that employee’s written statement of his/her desire to discontinue such deduction from his/her pay which may be received during the four (4) weeks following ratification of this Agreement or at any time thereafter.
INTERNATIONAL AID AND DEVELOPMENT. In the third pay period of November each year of the contract, the Company agrees to deduct twenty dollars ($20.00) from the wages of each employee in the bargaining unit as a donation to the "Humanity Fund." The amount so deducted shall be forwarded to United Steelworkers National Office, 000 Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Xxxxxxx, Xxxxxxx X0X 0X0. The Company will advise in writing both the Humanity Fund at the above address and the Local Union that such payment has been made, the amount of such payment, and the names of all employees in the bargaining unit on whose behalf such payment has been made. It is understood and agreed that participation by any employee in the bargaining unit in the program of deductions set forth above may be discontinued after receipt by the Company and the Local Union, by November 1 each year, of that employee's written statement of his desire to discontinue such deductions from his pay. A five hundred dollar ($500.00) donation to the "Humanity Fund" will be made by the Company in the third pay period of November of each contract year.

  • Training and Development 3.1 Authorities will develop local 'Workforce Development Plans (see Part 4.8),' closely linked to their service delivery plans, which will provide the focus for the establishment of training and development priorities. Training and development should be designed to meet the corporate and service needs of authorities both current and in the future, taking into account the individual needs of employees. Local schemes on training and development should enable authorities to attain their strategic objectives through development of their employees. Training and development provisions should be shaped to local requirements and take account of the full range of learning methods. Such an approach should enable access to learning for all employees. The needs of part time employees and shift workers need particular consideration. 3.2 Employees attending or undertaking required training are entitled to payment of normal earnings; all prescribed fees and other relevant expenses arising. Employees are also entitled to paid leave for the purpose of sitting for required examinations. When attending training courses outside contracted daily hours, part-time employees should be paid on the same basis as full- time employees. (Assistance for other forms of learning, for example that directed at individual development, will be locally determined). Some training can be very expensive and authorities may require repayment of all or part of the costs incurred should an employee leave the authority before a reasonable time period has expired. The authority's policy in this regard should be made explicit. 3.3 Objectives for training and development programmes should include the following: • To enable Councils to attain their strategic objectives via investment in their employees. • To promote equity of access to learning. • To encourage employees to develop their skills and level of responsibility to the maximum of their individual potential. • To widen and modernise the skills profile of employees to maximise their versatility, employability and so, job security. • To enable employees to raise productivity, quality and customer service in pursuit of sustainable improvement 3.4 Authorities should establish local partnership arrangements, to include recognised trade unions, to develop their local workforce development plans. 3.5 The NJC endorses partnership provision such as the "Return to Learn" scheme. Authorities and the recognised trade unions shall encourage and support employees taking on the statutory Union Learning Representative (ULR) role. This will include agreeing facilities and paid release in accordance with statutory provisions. ULRs should be enabled to play a full part in promoting and implementing local training and development programmes.

  • Research and Development (i) Advice and assistance in relation to research and development of Party B; (ii) Advice and assistance in strategic planning; and

  • INTERNATIONAL BOYCOTT PROHIBITION In accordance with Section 220-f of the Labor Law and Section 139-h of the State Finance Law, if this contract exceeds $5,000, the Contractor agrees, as a material condition of the contract, that neither the Contractor nor any substantially owned or affiliated person, firm, partnership or corporation has participated, is participating, or shall participate in an international boycott in violation of the federal Export Administration Act of 1979 (50 USC App. Sections 2401 et seq.) or regulations thereunder. If such Contractor, or any of the aforesaid affiliates of Contractor, is convicted or is otherwise found to have violated said laws or regulations upon the final determination of the United States Commerce Department or any other appropriate agency of the United States subsequent to the contract's execution, such contract, amendment or modification thereto shall be rendered forfeit and void. The Contractor shall so notify the State Comptroller within five (5) business days of such conviction, determination or disposition of appeal (2NYCRR 105.4).

  • Anti-Money Laundering/International Trade Law Compliance No Covered Entity is a Sanctioned Person. No Covered Entity, either in its own right or through any third party, (i) has any of its assets in a Sanctioned Country or in the possession, custody or control of a Sanctioned Person in violation of any Anti-Terrorism Law; (ii) does business in or with, or derives any of its income from investments in or transactions with, any Sanctioned Country or Sanctioned Person in violation of any Anti-Terrorism Law; or (iii) engages in any dealings or transactions prohibited by any Anti-Terrorism Law.

  • Creation and Development Fee If the Prospectus related to a Trust specifies a creation and development fee, the Trustee shall, on or immediately after the end of the initial offering period, withdraw from the Capital Account, an amount equal to the unpaid creation and development fee as of such date and credit such amount to a special non-Trust account designated by the Depositor out of which the creation and development fee will be distributed to the Depositor (the "Creation and Development Account"). The creation and development fee is the per unit amount specified in the Prospectus for the Trust. (16) Article III is hereby amended by adding the following section:
