HUMANITY FUND. The Company agrees to deduct on a weekly basis the amount of forty (40) cents per week from the wages of all employees in the bargaining unit for all hours worked and, prior to the 15th day of the month following, to pay the amount so deducted to the "Humanity Fund" and to forward such payment to United Steelworkers National Office, 000 Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Xxxxxxx, Xxxxxxx, X0X 0X0 and to advise in writing both the Humanity Fund at the aforementioned address and the local union that such payment has been made, the amount of such payment and the names of all employees in the bargaining unit on whose behalf such payment has been made. All employee deductions are voluntary and may be cancelled upon request.

The first “Humanity Fund” deduction as aforesaid shall be for the fifth week following ratification of this Agreement. It is understood and agreed that participation by any employee in the bargaining unit in the programme of deductions set forth above may be discontinued by any employee in the bargaining unit after the receipt by the Company and the local Union of that employee’s written statement of his desire to discontinue such deductions from his pay which may be received during the four weeks following ratification of this Agreement or at any time thereafter.
HUMANITY FUND. Upon written authorization from an employee, the Company agrees to deduct twenty dollars ($20.00) from each employee on October 1st of each year and forward it to the United Steelworkers of America, Humanity Fund, 000 Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Xxxxxxx, Xxxxxxx X0X 0X0.

The first Humanity Fund deduction as aforesaid shall be the fifth (5th) week following the ratification of this Agreement. It is understood and agreed that participation by any Employee in the bargaining unit in the program of deductions set forth above may be discontinued by any Employee in the bargaining unit after the receipt by the Company and the Local Union of that Employee’s written statement of his desire to discontinue such deductions from his pay which may be received during the four (4) weeks following ratification of the Agreement or at any time thereafter. It is agreed that the total for each Employee’s yearly deduction will be entered in Box 46 (Charitable Contribution) of the Revenue Canada T4 slip for the year it has been deducted. For this purpose, the payroll department will note the following Charitable Donation number for the “Humanity Fund”: R119172278RR0001.
HUMANITY FUND. The Company shall pay on behalf of all employees in the bargaining unit, an amount equivalent to one cent (1¢) per regular hour worked for the purposes of the Humanity Fund.
HUMANITY FUND a) The Employer shall deduct biweekly $0.01 per hour for all regular hours worked from the wages of employees covered by this collective agreement. The employer shall remit these funds annually as provided in subparagraph (e) below. b) The monies so deducted shall be remitted annually to the charitable foundation known as the CEP Humanity Fund no later than the fifteenth (15th) day of August. The employer shall also include with the remittance the number of employees for whom contributions have been made. c) The first deduction for the Fund will be made the fifth week following ratification of the Agreement. d) It is understood that participation in the program of deductions is voluntary. Employees who do not wish to participate must so inform the employer within thirty (30) days of the ratification of the agreement or within thirty (30) days after being hired. After that date, participants may request withdrawal in a letter to the Director of the Humanity Fund. e) All such employee contributions shall be recorded on the employee’s T4 form.

The employee shall notify the Employer of their intent to enrol in the Fund. The monies so deducted shall be remitted to the charitable foundation known as the CEP Humanity Fund no later than the 15th day of the month following the month in which the hours were worked. All such employee contributions to the CEP Humanity Fund shall be recorded on the employee’s T4 Form.

Such deduction will be made on the last pay in January of each year and, prior to the 15th day of the month following, will be paid to the “Humanity Fund”. Such payment will be forwarded to United Steelworkers of America National Office, 000 Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx, Xxxxxxx, Xxxxxxx, X0X 0X0. The Company will advise in writing both the Humanity Fund at the aforementioned address and the Local Union that such payment has been made, the amount of such payment and the names of all employees in the bargaining unit on whose behalf such payment has been made. The Company will indicate employee contributions to the Humanity Fund as a charitable contribution on each employee’s T-4 slip. For the year 2005, this deduction will be made on the first pay in August.
